My mom called me this afternoon, and i got alll excited that it was because she got my Mizzou letter. Of course, it was only to tell me about the crazy snowstorm, and that there was no way the mail would be delivered before Monday. Grr.
 
I'm sorry for all of you having to wait another day (or 3.. ouch sorry DickVet!)!! However I have no doubt all of you will get in!

I got my acceptance letter here in Wisconsin today! :soexcited: Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear, especially out east with that storm!
 
My stats were:
GPA: 3.87
GRE: 1250 total with a 4 in writing (can't remember what I got in each section)
5000+ hours in a SA clinic
35+ in a wildlife rehabilitation center

I'm so pumped!

Did everyone who got in get a large manilla envelope? And what kind of envelope did the 'waitlist' letter come in? Just curious cuz my dad said a large manilla envelope came in the mail for me and its being mailed down here and I don't want to get my hopes up if its just being waitlisted....😕

Crazy Hippos, what school are you going to? I did a brief check of the acceptance list and couldn't find you! Congrats though!

And quantized don't give up hope because I'm pretty sure they get to the waitlist every year and being number 2 is very high!! besides, though I love mizzou so so so much I still am highly considering my state school as well

Sorry, I've been really lazy with the acceptances/rejections/interview threads because I applied to a LOT of schools. I did post in the declining offers thread though because it affects other people. I'll probably end up at Ohio unless Davis is nice enough to let me in. Please accept me Davis!!! :xf:

No letter for me yet...Why couldn't they have overnighted it? 🙁 I'm in Va, so I guess I'll just wait til Monday...I walked 1/2 mile in 15 or so inches of snow to the mailbox today...Couldn't there have been an acceptance letter waiting for me in the box?

No letter here in PA either. No mail at ALL actually, but plenty of white, fluffy snow to play in! Guess it was a day full of win even without a manilla envelope! 😀
 
Well, i got my letter today. I'm on the waitlist. 🙁 i'm more bummed about this than i thought i would be. wish it had just been a rejection instead. but congrats 🙂 to all the people who have gotten in. Mizzou is seems like an awesome school
 
To those of you that have been accepted/waitlisted/rejected, did your status change on the Missouri website? I live in CA but am away in Iowa for an interview, so I know there will be a letter waiting for me Monday when I come home.

Did everyone who got in get a large manilla envelope? And what kind of envelope did the 'waitlist' letter come in? Just curious cuz my dad said a large manilla envelope came in the mail for me and its being mailed down here and I don't want to get my hopes up if its just being waitlisted....😕
 
I can't speak for waitlisted, but I did get in and it indeed was a manilla envelope. so if you got a manilla envelope I'd say you are in!

Oh and my status did not change either, btw
 
My letter came in a white envelope and I was waitlisted
 
Stupid baltimore snow. This is painful.
 
sigh.. waitlist #6 bummer. maybe this is a sign that ohio is the place for me!

Congrats to everyone who is accepted!

Any news at all on an in state timeline? Our deadline was Feb 1st as well and so far we haven't heard a single word. Are they just going to leave us hanging? Not even an email?

I'm going to end up withdrawing my app for this cycle regardless but I've got a lot of friends applying IS still and we're all anxious to hear something!
 
They conduct the IS interviews in alphabetical order. Apparently they send out the interiew invites in that order as well. I've heard from some people with last names in the C's who got their interview dates emailed to them saying that their interviews are in a week or so. However, someone else who is in the L's hasn't heard anything yet so I'd say by the end of next week we should be getting an invite in the mail.

Thanks for the info! That's not a ton of notification time but I guess it's only fair since people earlier in the alphabet would have almost no time to plan and people later in the alphabet would have a lot if they sent the invites out all at once.

I think the earliest letter I know applying is a 'P' so we might have a while to wait.
 
I'm the "student rep" for the admissions committee. Basically, my job is to answer any questions you may have. I can tell you that in state interviews are Feb 15-March 10. I believe decsions will be made immediately after that. Interviews are typically conducted M W F 1-5 PM. As previously stated, announcements are sent out by alphabet and interviews are conducted in that order.

I know this is really early to ask but does anyone know where most vet students live? I'm looking for a cat friendly, safe place to rent. I am moving from the east coast and will not be able to visit the apartment before moving in. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated 🙂

Whoa...Monday, Weds or Friday? And very little notice? I just assumed they would be on the weekend. Thanks for telling me that, I'll pass it on to my friends. Many have already graduated and live several hours away. It can be tough for them to take off work so they had better give their employers warning now.

Not sure about this...I know they did not have people call in-state students that were accepted but that may be different. I can try to find out though!

And if you're waitlisted, don't get down...Mizzou traditionally goes fairly deep into their waitlist.

Thanks so much!!! One of my favorite parts of this whole process was definitely getting to meet an SDNer in real life - you rock! 😀 I've heard from all of my schools and definitely have a lot of thinking to do. I'm still pulling for an acceptance from NCSU (I'm on the waitlist), but Missouri was super-impressive. I'll keep ya posted! Any idea where you'll be heading in the fall?

I'm 90% sure I'm heading to OSU. I love love loved it so much. I have a Tufts interview this week, and I went there for a summer program in HS and loved it, but I'm hoping I hate it now so I don't have to justify the cost, haha. But still, I loved OSU so much I think it'll be there. Sorry for the hijack guys! Back to Mizzou now!
