Anyone know the options for correcting a misspelling in the personal statement if my AMCAS is already submitted? Maybe someone at AMCAS would be a bear and correct it for me so I don't have to resubmit the thing. Yeah right.

i feel your pain. i read my PS today holding my breath
hoping i had no mispellings. maybe i should have done
that before i submitted. 😎

i have a friend that forgot to say she's taking the august
mcat....if u find out if AMCAS will make the change, let
me know and i will tell her.

i wonder if they will think i'm being secretive since i used
"ms." instead of "miss" or "mrs"?

I just pasted the thing from Word after doing spell check. Just too anxious to get the app. in I guess. Waiting to hear back from AMCAS as to my options. I was just wondering if anyone had gone through this yet. When I get a response, I'll post it for anyone else in the same boat.

From what I've heard and experienced, no changes. Once you click the submit button, there is nothing you can change regarding your ps. I had a couple of small errors on my ec's, but it didn't cause any problems in the end...

Not only will you not get accepted to medical school, but roving bands of the pre med police will come round to your house and beat you with wiffle bats. You will be invited to interviews, but only for the purpose of public ridicule.

Relax. As long as it was just one or maybe two mistakes, it shouldn't be a big deal. (Assuming the typo didn't change the meaning of a word to something that makes your app untrue.)

i wouldn't worry too much, i don't think you can correct it once it's sent though. i know in my PS i spell checked with word so instead of brain i had like "brian"....i don't think adcoms pay too much attention unless it's a really bad misspelling.

Just relax for a little while. Once the secondaries start piling up you will have plenty to worry about...

And no, you cannot resubmit. Once it's in it's in. You would have to wait until next year. Get over it.

Don't worry too much. I misspelled several words and I got in to where I wanted to go. I don't think it was read.

Thanks. After I had submitted and I noticed the misspelling, I just felt like I had royally screwed up. Typical overreaction.
