So, despite my best efforts (printing off the application, rereading it, the works) my amcas application was found to have a mistake.

Now, if it was a spelling mistake (actually noticed one of those, but those often are no big deal) I wouldn't worry at all. Those things happen, you move on. However, as a result of what I assume was my horrendous mouse scroller, one of my sections that I meant to be as non-clinical volunteering was submitted under clinical. I noticed this while using my completed amcas to help finalize my aacom application.

So, my application is (right now) under review but no one is reading it yet (submitted the 11th). Are there any options available to me with amcas (let them know right now, see if they can correct it) or would it be best to contact each school?

Or just stay quiet? (which I don't think would be best, but I'm open to opinions)

Thanks for the help!

It is doubtful that there is anything you can do. Your best bet is to call AMCAS, but odds are that you will have to hope that schools realize that it was a mistake rather than in intentional misclassification.

That is something that cannot be changed after submission, so changing it is not a possibility. You will have to contact each school individually and clarify.

Thanks for the info!

Checked in with AMCAS, got passed around a couple of time, got the definite answer that it couldn't be fixed now. They suggested just contacting the schools after the 27th.

Matches what was said and kinda what I planned on doing anyway so it's not a big deal. It should be pretty obvious anyway that the activity wasn't medical so... whatever.
