Any advice on the best resource to use for Mol Bio. I understand its very high yield. I have used Kaplan so far. Would that and UW be sufficient? Aiming in the 230's.

people say Molecular Bio HY, i glimpsed through the first 2 chapters and it seemed ****ty but havent really sat down to check it out, im still deciding if i should use it.

HY Molecular Bio 1999 edition is a great book.

I looked at the new edition and they really put way too much crap into it. 👎 There was a two-page spread of a karyotype with seemingly every significant mutation labeled in microscopic print...just go memorize this and you should be OK...LOL

a thorough read through Kaplan + UW was all I needed. I never checked out HY but, judging from the strong allegiance in SDN, it sounds like a great review.

If I only have the new one, can someone tell me what to Review and what to ignore ???

If the image people are talking about is the same as in page 232 of the second edition then that looks pretty confusing in terms that the legend is not very clear.

In essence what are we talking when we say Molecular Bio is important? The Genetic Part of Diseases ?

It looks like molecular Bio of Viruses is covered in a lot of other books, even the First Aid, but definitely the Micro HY. What you guys think?

Along with a friend I am thinking of summarizing the chaotic 2 page of mutations at the end of the second edition HY, if you guys would like to cooperate we can split the job and create a list.

Send me a PM.

I have both Kaplan and 1999 Mol Bio; I liked the Kaplan section tho and will stick with that.

i was doing a quick flip through of the 1999 book and there still seems to be quite a lot of detailed material that i can't really imagine being tested on step 1 or am i wrong to assume this?

do I need to read the entire thing or are there certain chapters that i need to focus on? thanks

I was wondering the same thing-whether it is worth sitting down and reading it cover to cover. I am running out of time!
