Needless to say, poor planning on my part has ****ed me once again. There are *NO* spots left to take the MCAT for this app cycle unless I take it in April. That's it, take it in April or wait a year for the next app cycle.

I took the MCAT a few years back and did ok on it. Scored pretty average with 3 months of studying, but I can honestly say those 3 months I spent 'studying' were just me lazily reading EK and not really putting in much effort. I now have all of SN2ed's suggested stuff. I recently quit my job so I have a ton of free time. Is it at all realistic to be able to study in 6 weeks if I put in a good 8 hours a day?

My best friend studied for 6 weeks and got a 37 so yes, it's possible, but only if you actually commit.

3.5 weeks-->35
I wanted to write the old one, so I did a christmas break cram (kind of...haha I also spent A LOT of time with family and friends and took more than 1 day off)
But if you really focus on maximizing your score, high-yeild topics, and practice test review, it can be done 🙂

I agree that it is possible, but depends on the person.

If you think you can succeed in that time frame, then why not?

I studied part time over four months, but bet that I actually studied less hours than 6 weeks of full-time and no distractions.

I just put in my first full 9 hour day. Don't remember any of this physics or gen chem. I'm ****ed.

If you are in a spot where you need to relearn a lot of the basics, it may not be feasible.

Maybe it will come back fast.

So - I must be wrong about this, but I thought July dates hadn't been released yet. Are those too late for this admissions cycle?

Are you sure? It looks like the OP posted "Yesterday @ 2:06PM". That does make me feel better though.

My bad, I was looking at join dates and not the timestamp on the post. Studying like hell for the 4/18 MCAT is frying my brain a little.

I'm on a similar 6-week schedule, working part-time right now and studying 3-4 hours a day, but I'll be studying full-time starting 3/14. If anyone wants to compare study schedules/dish about what's working and not working for you I'd love to keep this discussion going.

Not taking in April but I work 40hrs/wk and get to put in maybe 2-4 hours M-F. Weekends I try to utilize about 6-8 hours of total study time each day. Very exhausting.
As of now, I will be finishing content review by the end of this week. Then, I plan to take practice passages from TBR.

Verbal, I take 3-4 passages daily until test day.
I am aiming for two chapters daily, one from Bio and one from Chem one day and Phys/Orgo the next day, doing the first 1/3 of practice passages. BCHEM and Behavioral Sci I still have to find practice passages. I am thinking of TPR. Thurs and Fri will be the 2/3 of TBR and 2/3 of TPR if there's enough.
Sat will be FL and Sun will be reviewing all practice passages or reviewing remaining practice passages (if I get to review them during the work week) and the FL.
Start again Monday for the next chapters of Bio/Chem, Phys/Orgo, BChem/BSci, take 2/3 Bio/Chem, take 2/3 Phys/Orgo until Fri, then Sat is FL and Sun is review all.

I'm hoping this is rigorous enough but not too rigorous that'll make me burn out. I guess I'll have to see next week!

If you feel rushed take it at a later date. Gap years are less expensive and detrimental to applications then a poor MCAT score. I'm sure it can be done but if content is hazy that doesn't give you much time to practice test taking strategies.
