Hi,

I'm a completing a Transitional internship, but it appears likely that I'll have to interuppt my residency training for at least a year.

I have passed all 3 Steps.

Am about to initiate the licensure process in my state....

What kind of moonlighting positions can I get during the next yr and how much will they pay?

I am pretty solid Medically---can manage run-of-the-mill issues in medicine, pediatrics, ob/gyn and Emergency Medicine.

I can do minor procedures---suturing and the like.

However, I'm not comfortable intubating people, placing central lines, life-and-death stuff, etc.

So where should I look for employment? I'd like something steady that will allow me ample time to interview for a Residency position next year AND will pay fairly well.

I'd be happy doing something non-clinical, like working for an insurance company or something along those lines.

Suggestions anyone? Big city, small city? Where should I try?
