Hi
Does anyone have any experience with moonlighting in urgent care settings, ERs, medical inpatent floors, etc as a resident? I will be starting my 2nd year in residency and applying for my permanent license within a few months, and want to make some extra flow on the side. What is the typical pay range, how is malpractice generally covered, and how did you seek out the opportunities? Also, what qualifications are needed? I did a transitional year with plenty of inpatient medicine, ICU, ER and urgent care rotations. Thanks kindly and happy Easter.

It all depends on where you work and what part of the country you're in. In Missouri where I'm a 2nd year FP resident I moonlight at the urgent care for 65 bucks an hour and at a rural ED on the weekends for 100/hr. Not bad pay if you can it as a resident.....
