Most meaningful gift received as a preceptor?

I gave my director/mentor a hand carved, painted, wooden Japanese doll that I had picked up in Kyoto at the end of my 4th year.

Seriously, one of my interns got me a padded ergonomic stool, and it still is in my office even though I no longer practice. Really appreciated that as a gift.

My favorite gifts are insulated coffee mugs and insulated lunch packs. I've received those kind of gifts from past students/residents. I recall I collaborated with my fellow students to get our favorite preceptor a gift certificate/card to a nice restaurant. That could be an idea.
This is a great idea, especially if you attend the same school that your preceptor did. After graduation, you have fewer opportunities to buy pharmacy school swag, and a coffee cup with your alma mater's name on it is cheap and practical.
This is going to sound really cheesy, but aside from the above, the best gifts I've ever gotten from students were the notes/e-mails they sent thanking me for having a good experience on the rotation. It was really fulfilling to learn that I'd had a positive impact on their career. If you're short on cash and you want to show your preceptor that you appreciate him/her, consider doing this.
