Any movies that came out in 2010 that you would recommend for a film club? They have to have something to do with psychology or psychiatry or behavioral aspects of medicine.
I am a faculty member with 3 young children who often presents for a film club that involves premeds, med students and resident physicians with interests in psychiatry and neurology. I haven't seen many movies over the past year that weren't Pixar creations.
Any suggestions?

I'm guessing you will be told Inception and Black Swan.

Pootie Tang.

Good Will Hunting. Maybe it's a stretch, but that's one damn good movie.

Iris - Alzheimer's
Memento - Memory and it's functions
Finding Nemo - Ironicly the best movie which describes anterograde amnesia
Donnie Darko is good for schizophrenia

All good suggestions so far. Although "Pootie Tang" could be grounds for dismissal.

Didn't come out in 2010, but I'd choose Fight Club

Another "non 2010"

American Psycho, one of my all time favorites.

One Flew Over the ****oo's Nest, Awakenings

this. Can't believe it took 10 posts to name probably the most famous "psychiatry" movie of all time

as for throwaway films, The Sixth Sense (it was cool at the time, but certainly Shyamalan's 10 movies that employ the exact same formula has tarnished the originals reputation)

These are a bit old but they should be excellent.

Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon.

Oh, and Dr. Hannibal Lecter was a Johns Hopkins trained psychiatrist!!!

8 girls, 76 cups should make for interesting discussion.

Many of the David Lynch movies would be excellent candidates, as would One Flew Over the ****oo's Nest. Awakenings would also be a good choice. Taxi Driver is great too.

Other movies people have listed are right on as well.

You could invite the GI Club over for a joint viewing to discuss how that is even physically possible...

this would be an appropriate reply to a movie suggestion for The Human Centipede

I think I learned all I need and want to know about "Human Centipede" from Tosh.0.
Isn't there a musical out based on that movie now?
