Moving allowance?

A lot of places have X number of dollars alloted for moving expenses. Do they actually reimburse you with that if you need it or is it a sham?

Programs provide copies of contracts and benefits, per ACGME requirement. If it's on the contract, it sounds legally binding to me.

I don't think any program would intentionally mislead a resident about this. A resident joins a program, doesn't get reimbursed, and is upset within the first month - how could that possibly be beneficial for the program?
