I'm simply posting here because today I decided that I am close enough to starting school (orientation is this week) that I can reasonably change my status from "Pre-Dental" to "Dental Student". For those of you who are also starting soon, post up when you will be making the change! 👍

I'm not quite sure I would call this bragging. If I posted this in the predent section, then maybe... I feel that it is quite appropriate to have a thread where others can post their "official" transition to being a dental student in the Dental section of SDN lol 😀

The majority of people on SDN are going to get into dental school. To this audience, getting into dental school is not something people would feel is worth bragging about. It's just nice to follow someone's 1,314 posts from undergrad. to dental school. 😀

I know having the white coat ceremony during the first year is commonplace for medical schools and I think Columbia has their WCC their first year as well. Maybe it's because of UConn's and Columbia's med school background that they chose to do it for first years.

UW white coat is at the beginning of 3rd year and I remember western saying theirs is the first week... Someone at my interview at UW asked why its then and they said it really does not matter. Which is true...
