Worried about my GRE score :/ Hoping my graduate coursework will outweigh it. Also can't really tell what my chances are for the MBA programs since most have an average of 5 years of work experience.

Hi guys! Congrats again to everyone on their acceptances!! 🙂

I was scrolling through last year's thread, and was reading about Emory sending an email to let applicants know that their application has been sent to their first choice department. I haven't gotten this email yet, but they confirmed the receipt of my application on 12/18! :/ Is this the case for anybody else?

For anyone applying straight out of undergrad, have you had any of your programs ask for your fall grades? I have had a couple ask for mine as I submitted before the end of the semester and I am just wondering if it is common or due to my low gpa

I graduated in December too. I didn't submit my fall grades because I thought it would probably just slow down verification. I've been under review at all the schools I've applied to for about two weeks and haven't been asked for fall semester grades yet. I'll let you know if they ask though!

I haven't gotten it yet either, and they confirmed the receipt of my app on 12/22

I also never received the email that my application was in review by my first choice department, but when I emailed them later around 1/5 asking about it, they said it had been in review since 12/17 haha. I would just shoot them an email and they'll let you know!

I hope you are right about U of M and Emory. They're tied for my top program! Thank you for the feedback. Best of luck to you on you as well. Did you end up applying anywhere else?
Keep in mind UM is actually harder to get into than Columbia and BU, but I still think you have good chances!

Same boat. My GRE scores are on my SOPHAS as of a few days ago and my last rec came in today, but I got my OPUS login about a week ago. So far, my app through SOPHAS and everything has had a quick turnaround luckily, but no forward to the departments yet.

From what I gather, unless you applied super early, most people don't hear back until the last week of Jan - February up until Accepted Students Day in March I wanna say? Emory says that it could take 4-6 weeks too, I had thought. Some of ya'll will probably hear back sooner than me though since I wasn't verified until the first few days of January.

For anyone that applied to Emory:

So I logged into OPUS and it says on my to do list FAFSA 16-17 and it's in the initiated status which means "outstanding item, required to forward application for review". I can't fill out my FAFSA for 16-17 until the end of February when I file my taxes. Does this mean my application not be considered until that time? HELP!
Hmm, yours says required to fwd app for review? That's weird, mine says "Initiated" ... I'm confused.

I don't know much about combined programs, but don't you need the GMAT for MBA programs?

I don't know if anyone here has applied to Indiana University (I'm a hoosier... I had to), but my application was verified yesterday and I received an email this morning saying that my application is already under full review. They said I can expect to hear back in 2-3 weeks. WOW! If only every program was so prompt..

Posting in case this info might be helpful to others:
  • I submitted to UMD on 1/5 and just got a complete email stating that I will hear back in 4-6 weeks
  • I submitted to Emory on 1/6, created my OPUS login on 1/11, and received my complete email on 1/15 stating that my app has been forwarded to the department and I will hear back in 3-6 weeks.

I applied 12/18 and got the same email. I like how they say to check OPUS frequently as if we don't do that enough already 😛
Riiight?! Haha I check it at the strangest hours, but yeah, at least twice a day (4 am/4 pm). Ugh. And Harvard just sent their HSPH log in info... everyone seems to be active on their deadline dates 😉

ugh I was hoping for a decision from Emory next week. I received the same email that my application has just been forwarded to my department.

Just got Harvard login info too - I was hoping it might mean they're running ahead of schedule and had already made a decision, but I'll keep dreaming!

Accepted to BU, waiting to hear from Columbia and yale.
theres no word about scholarship in the acceptance mail, when and how can i find out

Just got the email from Emory that my app had been sent to BSHE, and got the Harvard log in info. I keep checking opus even though I know nothing will be there! Lol

Has anyone heard anything from Michigan recently? I'm being silly and impatient but oh well 🙂

How long does it usually take between being recommended for admission and receiving an official acceptance? A little over a week ago I got the email from USF saying I was recommended for admission and I haven't gotten the follow up messages yet?

Hrm, this gives me a feeling then my application will be forwarded by next week possibly for Emory. My nerves are shot until then, hahaha.

Can anyone give me any idea about the average class size of Hopkins MPH?
Thanks in advance.

I just got an email from Columbia (Department of Health Policy & Management) for a phone interview. Has anyone already had a phone interview at Columbia or can give me advice on what to expect and how to prepare?
Had my interview a week ago! Don't be nervous, it's a student interview and it's really just go to know you and your interests better! You'll be fine 🙂 The girl who interviewed me had a similar undergraduate and work experience background as me so we had a lot to talk about. Just find common ground between you and the interviewer and you'll be great!

Just got in to UT Houston, at 3:08 am. A tad strange!

Applied 12/1, verified 12/4.

Now all that's left for this month, maybe, is Emory...

Yes! I think mine came out of order so I just got my official acceptance email at 12:35am the other night. Haha

Just got an email that I am recommended for admission to Colorado School of Public Health's Global Health program! They said I'll receive an official acceptance letter in a few days. Super exciting!
Congrats! What date were you verified for Colorado?

If you don't mind me asking, when was your application submitted? Still waiting to hear back from HBHE.

I submitted on December 1st and my app was verified on December 3rd. I got an email saying they received my application on December 14th!

Interesting. My application was received on 11/23 and I haven't heard anything.

I applied to the MPH/RD program at UNC as well! Have you heard back yet?

Hi HPM! Nice to meet you 🙂 I haven't heard anything yet, but I don't believe we can expect to receive any decisions until February (based on the 2015 forum). This waiting game is so taxing--hang in there, and best of luck!

Hmmm I submitted mine on 12/2. Verified a few days later. *Shrug* thanks for the information, guess I'll just keep holding on.

Hi guys, I have a question for people who have been accepted to the University of Texas.

Did all of you apply to the Houston campus? Did anyone apply or get accepted to the San Antonio campus? I applied to the San Antonio campus, and am just a little worried that I haven't heard back. It seems like there are quite a few UT acceptances.

Thank-you & best of luck to everyone!

I'm not sure yet. I'm waiting to receive the email that my application has been forwarded for review.
Hey! So what happened is that 1/8 they sent me an email that they received my application and on 1/15 they emailed saying my application was complete and had been forwarded to my first department of choice. I started my FAFSA and entered Emory's school code, but I haven't submitted by FAFSA yet.
