Seriously! This is a form of torture. Berkeley MCH applicants heard back last week of January last year, so I pretty much haven't left my computer for a couple of days :help:

To Johns Hopkins 1-year MPH folks - did you receive anything in the mail, or do we just get all of our admitted students info from the online login?

The end goal is a PhD program, however my mentor (smartly) advised me to apply to Master's and PhD programs so I leave my options open.

To anyone accepted to Emory (especially MSPH), how did you find out? I received a notice that Emory has created a label for a 3 pound FedEx package to be sent out tomorrow and arriving next week, but I can't view my admissions decision online (I do have the FAFSA on my To Do list, but I've already submitted this and anyway they said they wouldn't process this until mid-February). The option to pay the admissions deposit does work.

IF you have the Pay Admissions Deposit, as many have posted, it means you got accepted (so Congratulations!!!). 😉 That FedEx Package is probably your admissions package from RSPH since quite a few people in this thread have received theirs or will soon. 👍

I received mine in an email with a bunch of documents. Probably because I still haven't received a physical package as I'm an international applicant.

I received an email acceptance, followed by the online login. I got like a little card in the mail saying congratulations and welcome. 🙂

It was in an e-mail! And actually, I have technically only been recommended for admission. My online portal still says "submitted".

I didn't find out that I got accepted into MSPH specifically until I got an email from them... but I think they would've told you by now if you didn't get into MSPH but were being considered for MPH. Aka I think you got accepted for the MSPH!!!

I think it's in her signature. Most of the users have their concentration, the schools they applied to, where they were accepted, and the dates for each in their signature. Hope this helps.

Stumbled across this board and feeling a little more nervous now seeing all the people that have heard acceptances. I only applied to one school and haven't heard anything...

Undergrad School: University of Rhode Island
Undergrad GPA/Major GPA: 3.65
Major/Minor: Nursing/ Thanatology (minor in the study of death and dying)
GRE : GRE July 2015 --- V 160/ Q 155 / AW 5.5
Experience/Research (please, be brief):
4.5 years as a Neonatal ICU nurse with CCRN & RNC designations
2/4.5 years spent as a travel nurse to various regions of the US
3/4.5 years as a Lactation Counselor and Consultant
Humanitarian work in Haiti and Madagascar
applied while overseas for 5 months doing medical missions work in Madagascar

Reference letters were from a manager at my first job, a coworker and a supervisor from a missions trip... pretty weak. I had no academic contacts to reach out to.


Interested in: Maternal & Child Health
Applied: Johns Hopkins MPH (verified 12/18)

I only applied to JHU because it was hard pulling together all my stuff while abroad. I moved to Boston recently, so if I don't get in, I will probably retake my GRE and then apply to Harvard and BU.

For those of you who have heard, did you apply a lot earlier than the 12/15 deadline? Are any of you part-time/online applicants? (Like me?) I am hopeful that maybe I'm just waitlisted (I received the SOPHAS survey at the close out of my application last week) while they wait for some offer rejections to roll in and can make space for more people. I don't have a public health background, really - I'm just so interested in this career path. Fingers crossed.

You might also want to look at Tufts if you're looking in the Boston area. Their program is geared toward part-time students and I believe most if not all of their classes are in the evenings. I applied to both Tufts and BU because of that. I'm considering either keeping my current job or finding a new FT position while studying PT if I end up going to one of those schools.

Hi, I think you have a great GPA and GRE for BU. I remember calling admissions during the spring admissions deadline time and they weren't strict on their app deadline. You should call and ask if they're still accepting applicants if you'd really like to apply again. I really don't think you'd need to retake your GRE for BU. But that's just my opinion 🙂 It's just always nice to have a fall back school if your first choice doesn't work out.

Also, as far as the not having much of a public health background... I didn't find that to be a huge problem for me. Admissions told me just to talk about what I did and how it brought me to public health. So I wouldn't worry too much about that either!

Lol I don't think Columbia is going to release decisions just yet! Maybe Friday if we're lucky!! Last year they sent out their first round of decisions on 2/6. So stay sane till at least this Friday 🙂

I even told my boss that I'm waiting on decisions. That way, they can expect me to be a hot mess regardless of the decision I get, when that time comes 🙂

Same! Also waiting for Colorado. The earliest date I found from the last two years was February 7th, so maybe if we're lucky this Friday?? Otherwise I'm hoping for next week! Of course, that doesn't stop us from compulsively checking emails :laugh:

I saw that too but a tiny part of me clings onto some hope that a kind soul in the admissions office would "accidentally" release decisions to put everyone's anxiety at ease. lol such nice dreams. But you're right... just gotta find something to occupy my mind for the time being. +pity+

It'd be interesting to hear where people's top choice(s) are right now based on the decisions they've received already. I'm torn between my current two (BU and Tufts). Even though they're both in Boston, they're fairly different programs.

In my phone interview with UW MPH-RD program, they told me they would be making decisions the 2nd or 3rd week of February. So, here's hoping they are ahead of the game and my thousands of email refreshes this week aren't in vain!

Same. People have been asking me how I am and I've been like "....GRAD SCHOOL." Then we all lament on the GRE, haha.

I tell myself not to refresh OPUS, but I can't help it anymore. Looks like quite a few people haven't heard from the BSHE department at all for a while now so I'm just always on edge now.

I applied for the full time program. My application was verified on 11/4 and heard back from JHSPH on 12/8. I think that was the first wave of their deecision release. Hope for the best.
