Hi!
I recently received an interview invite for the Master of Science Program at TouroCOM Montana. I was wondering if anyone in this cycle or a previous cycle can answer some questions that I have about this program?
1) Is the interview difficult? How did it go? How can I prep for it?
2) Does this program take everyone and make us compete against each other during the program so only a few people actually get the medical school seat?
3) What are the percentages looking like? Typically how many people directly make it to medical school out of those who joined the program?
4) I've seen on here that the grades work on a curve. Is this for every class? And how hard is it to maintain a 3.45GPA with this type of grading scale?
5) Are all classes taught using the flipped style of teaching or is it only specific classes? How do you feel about this method of teaching? Is it better to grasp material or does it make thing more difficult?
6) I see that a passing grade in the comprehensive exam is a requirement for matriculation into medical school. I'm assuming this is separate from the MCAT? How difficult was this exam? What does a passing grade mean?
7) Does our CASPer exam score affect our chances of matriculating?
8) What are some things that you wish you knew before starting this program?
I know I have a lot of questions haha. I'm just trying to figure out what's the best fit for me. I currently have a 3.46 GPA and graduated with a psychology major and chemistry minor. I got a really low score on the MCAT (486) and am prepping to retake it soon. I've also been accepted into Samual Merritt's MBS program which guarantees atleast one interview if we meet certain requirements. I'm totally opening to hearing advice or if someone has been accepted into Samuel Merritt's program as well 🙂
