I was wondering if you all had recommendations regarding the best books for MSK and Neuro exams. I looked through old threads which dealt with MSK only, which recommended Hoppenfeld, Melanga, and Magee. Neuro, squadoosh. I currently own a Bates, and was wondering if that would be sufficient for strengthening those exams for my two elective PM&R rotations in July and August, or if I should go and purchase extra books for MSK/Neuro and study those?

Hope you get an answer to this one, I'm wondering the exact same thing myself. Any thoughts on whether Bates is enough for a couple electives?

Also, what do you guys think about the Reider textbook (The Orthopaedic Physical Exam)? I haven't seen that one mentioned.

Thanks.

Hi..As a physical therapist going into PM&R, I would rec. Magee. I just think it is simple yet concise and gives you all you need.

My vote is for Melanga for MSK. Magee is good but doesn't have some of the useful EBM that I'm looking for. Besides Melanga and Nadler come with a very useful DVD.

I'm undecided for the neuro exam as of yet.
