Congrats! I got the same feeling when I received the accepted email. I also plan to attend EL, but I would like to visit the campus first. Can you tell me something about EL campus? I'm OOS, and I hope they will give me the non-resident scholarship
PS: I absolutely agree with you that there is much more about the applicant than his stats.
My application has been complete since early August or late July (I believe). I'm at work now so I don't have the exact date in front of me.
So I spent a day at MSUCOM in the spring. I can tell you straight away, don't expect a shiny new building. Nothing about the building was very impressive. It's large but pretty old. HOWEVER there were many good things (and more important things, IMO) about this school. First off, everyone I met was really laid back. CCOM and MSUCOM were my two favorite schools for one of the same reasons: the students emphasized how supportive the academic atmosphere is.
MSUCOM students take classes with MSU-CHM students for the first year (or two?) but I was told that the DO students make it a point to share study guides, answers to review problems etc. Also, everyone I met was really excited and proud to be at MSUCOM. If you're interested in primary care, MSUCOM will be a great fit for you. Even if you're not, MSUCOM may still be a great fit for you! I hear a large portion go into ortho, but that could be heresay =D.
Take my feedback with a grain of salt. I spent only one day on campus! I bet current students will have more to say. Actually, I would love to hear pros and cons from current students.
