So I'm just curious about the visit day.. Is it frowned upon for not going? I'm just wondering because I've been to and seen the school but I don't want to never be pulled off the wait list for not going lol
Yes I'm afraid of the same. I'm abroad now and it would cost a lot for me to come for a visit..but academically, it must not be relevant right?
They didn't have a sign-in sheet or anything when I went so there's really no way for them to keep track. It's probably totally fine if you can't/don't want to go. Maybe just their way of keeping you interested during the wait

this might be a dumb question.. but I want to send MSUCOM (along with other schools) an update with fall semesters grades, how do I do this? Thanks!
You should start by asking each school if they accept grade updates. Some schools do not accept them at all and some only accept them if they requested the information.
I'm not sure what MSUCOMs policy on grade updates happens to be.
Send Your updated transcript to AACOMAS first... from there it will roll its own way.

They accept updates. Send it to AACOMAS, but if u want their office to have one first (not have to wait for reverification) fax it to them because they do not open email attachments. However, even though they do accept grade updates, they won't "recalculate your application ranking" based off of the new grades. Hope that helps!

I've been trying not to bother the staff, but I'm starting to contemplate calling the office to make sure my file did not get lost behind a bookshelf or something
. Well, I know its probably on a computer system... so I guess its not lost.I'm just wondering for those Canadians that have been accepted, have you all finished your affidavit of support? I got a letter from them a couple weeks ago, saying that the amount of support is 82,565.00. Does anyone know if this is 80k per year or just a flat 80k? We also have that 20k scholarship, wouldn't this be taken into consideration as well? I have tried to call MSUCOM, but they were unable to answer this and suggested me to email OISS. But so far I have not heard back from them yet. Anyone shed some light on this?
yea im still waiting with you too...we still have till late april or may though. A friend whose in the class said that they accepted someone on the last week of may so even though thats way late i would still love to hear back.
I think the people that get accepted that late are waitlisted people. I'm a reapplicant and received my rejection last year the first week of April, where the email told me they never even got to my file because they stopped reviewing at that point. I feel like the window to look over not-waitlisted people is getting smaller and smaller unfortunately
That's just depressing... At least I got an interview at LECOM. Have you heard from other schools?

Congrats on that interview! I have yet to get a response from them. Waitlisted at 3 schools and accepted at Marian. Michigan resident though, so it'd be nice to at least hear from my state school 😳 👎
Congrats on that!! i didnt apply there and im kicking myself now cause 2 of my friends heard back from there. Really wanted to hear back from MSU but i dont think it will happen...would be thrilled with lecom though

And I don't call it quiet Wednesday until 5:30pm EST,
I called the office the other day and she assured me that when they reviewed my file I would hear one way other the other. Its just surprising to me that they have not looked at a file that they have had since the first week of September 😱
Obviously they do not look at files in purely a chronological order.
So good to all of us waiting to hear back and all of those still on the wait-list. 👍

. What time of the day do people usually get accepted by? Also, I think I read it somewhere that like 30% of the students drop the DO program because they get accepted into an MD school somewhere? It's gonna be ok, DrMeows. You'll get in. 👍

Hey guys, I am part of the class of 2016 and I wanted to give you all a little bit of hope
I applied veryyyy late (Dec)...I received my secondary in January, submitted it the first week of Feb, Placed on the wait list on the 23rd and accepted off the wait list 4 days later on the 27th
I received the acceptance email around 10:30am
I will tell you that I had a strong MCAT, avg GPA, and a lot of volunteer work that probably bumped me up to the top of the wait list
As far as calling admissions, I never called them, but a friend of mine did and they did not reveal her position on the wait list, but I think when it is approaching the final weeks of the cycle they tell you if you are in the top 10
There are certainly people that got accepted last minute and I do think there is a significant amount of wait list movement

It will email you a checklist of all the secondary stuff and whether they have received it or not..it doesn't hurt to just double check that they have everything, especially your LOR forms (forgot what they were called) to make sure your letter writer actually sent them in

Does this really happen? I think I noticed some wait-list spots handed out on other days but have they done this with acceptances too?
Any other wait listers going to the February 22 open house?? I decided to sign up for it in hopes or hearing before then haha wishful thinking

I had emailed awhile back to see about taking a tour and they said EL does not offer tours but they have a visit day for those accepted and on the waitlist.
