I have heard that both are good programs, but of the two, I only applied to KCUMB. I felt like I didn't want to attend a school that accepts applicants "site unseen." That could make for some very odd classmates, etc.. Not to mention, this detracts from one of the elements I find appealing about the medical school admissions process, the ability to present and sell yourself to the admissions committee.
Beyond that, I have no other reasons why I didn't like MSU, I haven't heard enough about it as a school either way. I have, however, decided to attend KCUMB over most of the other schools, because it is a strong program, has good rotation sites, a great curriculum, good faculty, and lots of early and frequent clinical exposure. Not to mention, they match a fairly large number of highly desirable specialties (at least for me).
