I'm a 3rd year at MUCOM. Rotations have been a really great experience thus far. We're affiliated with huge health systems (St. Vincent, Community, St. Francis etc.) and most of the preceptors at these hospitals are absolutely ecstatic to have us. My schedule is split between St. Vincent on 86th street and Community North/ East, so I only need to travel 20 minutes max to the hospitals. I did one FM rotation in western Indiana, but housing was provided (and I got to ride on helicopters with the doc for rural emergencies!) We've had residency program directors from various programs in Indiana speak with our class (i.e. anesthesia at IU, FM + psych at Community Health, all programs at St.Vincent, FM at St. Francis and Reid etc.) -- and these directors have expressed excitement for our applications. Simply based upon the rotations and hospital affiliations, I'd say MUCOM is a sure bet to make us into competent and compassionate physicians. Good luck with your decision.
