I got this letter last year and never recieved an interview I then recieved a rejection letter from the comittee in march, so even if you get this letter it does not mean you will get an interview, by the way I also recieved this letter this year

Fantastic, I'll keep this in mind. For a while there I was so elated by thinking I can count on another school to give me an interview. A**holes! Just tell us about an interview when you actually give us one, don't wag it around our noses with the possibility of taking it away from us.

I think they enjoy toying with applicant's fragile emotions.

You lucky bastard, I got my rejection letter from MCW today =P
😳 you and jbrice are both out of state, but I'm in WI (less than 10 miles from MCW, actually). You guys both have solid profiles, I'm sure you'll do fine.

i actually chose to apply to wisconsin schools because my parents live in the milwaukee suburbs now and i was hoping to be close to family if i had to leave chicago...but i knew going into it that being an illinois resident wasn't going to make it easy trying to get into a wisconsin school.

I think the email is just to keep you up-to-date, but it still does suck to wait. I got the email last year and interviewed in Feb. for a spot on the waitlist, which in the past had moved a lot but barely moved this past year. So went back and applied Early Decision this year and got accepted. I also am from out-of-state. Remember it is a private school, so they take a lot of out-of-state people! Any questions, feel free to ask me and I would be glad to try and help out.

I think between Wisconsin and Rosalind Franklin my ass is hurting from all the fun they're having w/ me 😱

Meanwhile I still haven't heard jack from MCW. My status page STILL says "complete", no vague emails, no snail mail rejections (yet, I'm sure they're coming), just a black hole of nothingness. This sucks. 😡

Send them an e-mail. They are pretty good with their replying time.

No email necessary. Rejection has arrived. I figured as much when I didn't get the vague email message.

Sorry to hear that. I anticipate getting one pretty soon..just send the damn thing already!!! The lesson here boys and girls is that being out-of-state sucks monkey balls.

Anyone know anything about the potential 3rd interview session? There are 2 for sure but apparently some applicants get 3.

Yeah, it's really not a huge deal. I had to do the third interview when I applied, and was still accepted. I think that the first two interviewers must come up with a rough numerical score immediately after their session with the applicant, and if those numbers are far enough apart the applicant is asked to go through another interview in order for the school to get a "3rd opinion" on them.

Long story short--seems like a big deal if you get your name read off in front of the rest of the interviewees to take the third interview, but just look at it as a chance to really shine in a pressure situation. It usually means that at least one of the original interviewers gave you high enough scores to gain an acceptance...now you just have to convince the last one.

hey guys...i am an out of stater and applied sorta last minute to MCW...i havent heard back from them...no weird email or rejection either....how long did it take most of you to get that email after your status was complete...i think it may be a lost cause

kaykay, I was complete 8/30 and just got the rejection via snail mail last week on Friday. No interview... just rejection.

I was completed on 08/01
Received a vague e-mail on 09/26
Inquired about the vague e-mail on 10/14
received an annoyed and still vague reply regarding my inquiry on 10/14
Decided to shut up with the inquiries and ride this pony all the way to rejection on 10/15

thanks guys....i wasnt complete unti 10/12....so i guess it might be a while for the rejection/vague email

Does MCW discriminate heavily against out of staters or something? I applied there because I figured it was a private institution, heh. I knew I had no chance at U of Wisconsin, though our UCLA's Medical Physics program rivals U of Wisconsin's =D

I doubt it. According to MSAR:

OOS applicants - 4182
OOS interviewed - 512
OOS matriculated - 125

In-state applicants - 513
In-state interviewed - 173
In-state matriculated - 76

Total matriculated - 204

Note: I love writing "According to MSAR...". It gives me this air of certainty that I usually lack.

So, according to the MSAR, or anecdotes, how many people did they pull from the waitlist last year? In other words, how many acceptances were offered in total?

We were told that a third interview is used in the situation that they don't feel like they got to know you well enough.

According to MSAR 😛 , the number enrolled for 2004 was 805 and 204 matriculated from 2004-2005 first year class.

Anyone have MCW's tuition informaiton? I can't find it on their website.
