i just got an email from osu saying they didnt get my dat yet either. sooo i called the ada to make sure they sent them. guess what? i was charged $250 for adding 10 schools AND THEY HAVENT EVEN BEEN SENT. the guy told me they dont have it on the record for schools chosen. this is ridiculous. for $25 dollars a school they should at least do what you pay them to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The same thing happened to me. Just call the ADA and tell them what's going on, they should direct you to the right person. The CDA gave me the date my scores were actually sent out, but said that it's common for schools to misplace them. They sent my scores all out again for me free of charge, so hopefully the ADA will do the same thing. I haven't confirmed whether or not the second set of scores have made it to the schools yet though 😕

Yes, I realize that the responsible thing would have been to print out the list when I first signed up but that would have made sense 😉

ADA should have sent you a list when you signed up for the DAT. Double check it to make sure all of your schools are listed.

this is actually more common than you think. ADA actually reversed my name (last name first, first name last). Some schools file scores by name and others do it by social security number. You should check to see if that's what happened. As for the list of schools you can just call ADA and they can read it off to you.

It is more likely that you filled your name out wrong. You're not alone I did the same. I'm so used to filling out forms with my first name then my last name but ADA switched it.

How did you get it changed. I called and they said I couldn't change it over the phone so I had to send them a written request by mail. I was however giving my test confirmation number (with which you can you can change your test date or cancel the test) with only giving my name. GG for consistency.

it sucks doesn't it?!!!! I faxed them a written request to change it but I also called every single school I applied to and told them what happened. They received my dat score but they just had no idea what to do with it since they were unable to file it anywhere. Just call the schools yourself and straighten it out with them. You can't just rely on ada

yea i had this same problem. i signed up for the dat and requested 5 schools and when i got my confirmation letter, it said i had chosen 0 schools. i had to call them and get it straightened out

It seems to me, from all of these threads, that the ADA has been messing up a lot this cycle. Marquette contacted me and said that they had not received my DAT scores yet which I actually had sent out early in June. I have to ask my other schools if they have received my DAT scores, then I'm off to tell the ADA. This is so frustrating.

I thought it was just me who was having this problem.

NYU sent me an email saying they didn't receive my score report which was sent out back in May according to ADA's Nick Hussong.

He told me schools have access to the "electronic system" where they can look up each student's score report in case they lose all 3 physical paper copies they send out. Thus ADA will NOT send the report again.

I told NYU that and they told me not everyone in the ADCOM has access to the eletronic system thus need a physical copy. They told me to fax in my personal copy to them. I am going to have to go through piles of moving boxes to find it now. Darn it! So much for paying ADA and schools to send a few mails and keep track of them...

If there is one thing you should take from your experience applying to dental schools is to never trust ANYONE with anything important. AADSAS and the ADA have proved to us their incompetence, so take matters into your own hands. Call the schools and find out what they have from your application.
