hello. SDN friends.

i've just got my nbde part.2 score.

it's 89.

i don't think i aced the exam, but i'm just relieved to pass the exam.🙂

i'd like to share my experience on nbde part.2 as i got help from this website.

i prepared the exam for 6 weeks.

during first 2 weeks, i went over dental decks.

although i also thumbed through nbde first aid, i think dental decks are more effective.

and during next 2 weeks, i checked up old exams.

i don't think it's easy to get good scores only with the materials, but there's been always frequent questions. don't miss them!

then during the last 2 weeks, i updated questions pool with the latest data.

i think it's the most important part of preparing the exam.

please make sure check up new information online.

finally, nbde part.2 exam was not that hard, but really exhausting.

the most part of your score will be depend on your condition on the exam day.

if you keep yourself in shape, i sure all you will easily go through it.👍

plus, i need your advice.

as i'm the international dentist, i rarely have information on postdoc programs in the U.S.

i plan to apply periodontics postdoc programs at some decent universities.

but i devastated my nbde part.1 exam. (it was 84.)

with such two exam scores, could i have a good chance to get admitted?

or should i retake nbde part.1?

i look forward to your precious advice. thank you.🙂

Hi Soowill,

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. As for your question, I think one of the best places for you to try would be University of Washington, Seattle. The catch is that you need to have GRE score too, as they insist on that. If you have it, I think you should give it a try.
I had spoken to the conecerned lady in the program about three years ago, and I remember her saying they had an Indian dentist who had come there to do his MPH, completed his boards and got into the Perio program.
So go on 👍.

I really appreciate your advice! pandu.

and could i ask you for more things?

actually, i've already taken GRE, and got scores of 1500.(verbal: 700/800, quantitative: 800/800)

but i can't get the information of the appropriate GRE scores to get admitted.

how much scores help me to have a good opportunity to do it?

and i'd like to know average GPR of the program. thanks.

Hi Soowill,
actually I haven't looked up their site recently, so I don't have the exact information. Their website would be the best place to look at. I think they have a preformatted page kind of thing where you enter about your international status..........etc and then there is a drop down list of courses. Each time you select a course, it gives you details of what all is needed for the course, including GRE divisions.
If you cannoy find it, just look up the department and call them. They do give us the required information. I think calling is better and You can have all your doubts cleared. Your GRE scores look great, so just call. Good luck.
Can you also please answer the question the person above asked? Because I kind of have the same question.

regarding your questions,

first i'd like to make clear is that dental decks and first aid can't cover all parts of the exam.

for me, at best it was 50% which so-called nbde study mateials could do.

it's because they rarely deal with some vital parts of the exam, for example, implantology, behavior management, procedure of combined ds., and so on.

hence i recommend you to review these parts on yout text.🙂

and it'll really help you to browse through this website and search for questions people posted.

i think you don't need to worry about the 2nd day of the exam.

the questions were not tricky, so you could cope with them by common sense.

but getting accustomed to know which prosth. procedure are selected depending on cases was required, especially in esthetic dentistry including resin, porcelain, or direct filling, veneer, crown.

i can't sure i answered well because english is not my tongue.

but i hope your good luck.👍

you already have all things which i had, even more!

exactly, i had dental decks 07'-08', old exams after 85', and firstaid.

but i think if you go over dental decks, firstaid is not neccesary.

as i said, i strongly recommend you to study behavior management, implantology, esthetic dentistry with your text.

and don't spend too much time in studying pharmacology.

i hope your good luck!👍

hey soowill congrats on ur great score and thanx for guiding us. I juz have a question. do u think it will be fine if i dnt do q papers before 85?? i ve them frm year 77.... so is it worth doing these question papers??

hey alamov, there r people who r aelling part 2 material. there u can get q papers.. see classified section..
