Hello,

Although I have looked over this site for a number of years and offered sporadic comments and somewhat useless conjecture, at times, I am now ready to formally announce who I am and what I am trying to accomplish.

I'm 27, I grew up in a very rural part of VA and now live in the northeast. I've spent the latter part of my teenage years and all of my twenties working as a paramedic and although I love this job I've always wanted to do and learn more.

I transferred into a reputable university in the northeast beginning my undergraduate journey this fall semester. I'm a bit overwhelmed juggling work and courses but I find that I do much better in ever faucet of my life when I'm just a little too busy..

So here I am, announcing to the part of the world within STDN that I am going to become a physician come hell or high water.

Welcome to the jungle.😀

Welcome. I'm only 24, but I started my first college this semester, and I know balance work and schools is tough. I'm definitely 10x better now than I was in August, but it takes some adjusting. Best of luck.

Welcome...I am also from rural Virginia and will start med school next year at 30. Good luck with everything.

Drop back on the coursework if you are not getting high grades. You can easily dig yourself into a low undergraduate GPA "hole" that you can't get out of. You need to make sure that your uGPA is staying above 3.65 and that you are getting a solid knowledge base for scoring well on the MCAT. You won't get any "brownie points" for trying to balance work and school that in the end leaves you with a less than competitive undergraduate GPA.

Just realized.

It's unfortunate that a sincere post could cause such a negative reaction. Would you like me to apologize? Obviously, you have been offended. I am deeply, regretfully sorry. I wish there was a way to make it up to you. If only I had a dictionary or even a picture from which I could pull something great to express just how much I care.

Regrets,
RB

It's just a hazing. They give it to everybody. They actually had to end up locking my first posting thread.
