My GPA is Low, my DAT is ok, what do you suggest I do if I don't get accepted?

I just really want to know your, guys and girls, opinions about what would you advise me do in case I do not get into a dental school this year. Should I maybe retake my DAT and try to improve my Reading Comprehension score, should I just reapply again in June, or Should I do a formal post-bac program someplace. Also, If you believe a 1 year post bac is the best way to go where would you recommend I do it at? Thank you so so much ahead of time 🙂

If your GPA is a problem, retaking the DAT won't fix that. Consider a post bac (doesn't have to be formal) if your GPA is something like 3.2-3.3 but if it's lower, you're probably better off with a masters. If you choose the post bac route, take your classes at an inexpensive four year university. Dental schools like upward trends, good luck 🙂

You need to do either a post bacc or Masters program. Your DAT is absolutely fine plenty of people get in with an 18 in RC. But a low sGPA of 3.00 is definitely the reason schools aren't willing to interview or accept you. If you can boost that GPA to higher levels then you have a good chance at interviews at private schools like NYU, Tufts, USC, LECOM, etc.

I personally think your DAT is fine although it can't hurt to take it again (as longa s you do better). I'd at the very least take some more coursework and a post-bacc would definitely be useful. Schools want to see dedication and continued work towards your goal - just retaking tests or applying multiple times over doesn't mean anything, while taking multiple courses or a full post-bacc shows that commitment. Remember that you will still need to perform and show improvement over your previous averages.

Agree with everything except the bolded statement which is not really useful when you have a 20AA and no guarantee of increasing that type of score.
