Okay, so i guess my real question should be: In relation to the DAT test, what should my first two years of college look like?
Just be simple like this:
Year 1:
Calc
Chem
Year 2:
intro to bio
o chem
I'm really looking for something like that. I'm guessing my instructor won't know too much about dental school, since he is a 3rd year electrical engineer giving us a tour of the school, so i could really use the help from you guys so i know what to sign up for!
do whatever major you want and find interesting, trust me! I had alot of engineering friends and even though they spent alot of time doing projects, they still had social lives, and one was prehealth.
layout:
YR1- gen chem I, genchem II, [[bio I, bio II (all with labs) take first, second, or thrd year ]]
physics may be part of your engineering requirement, if it is, i would shift around bio possibly. however, im under the impression your fist engineering year is the easiest, so you might want to take bio here. and a second note, studying for college courses is a night and day difference vs highschool. be serious and time efficient, and go out on weekends
🙂
YR2- orgo I, orgo II, physics I Physics II.
summer2- as much shadowing as you can
YR3- English 1 year
summer 3 - be prepared to take the DAT ASAP, apps open in early june i believe, and it takes a few weeks after you take your DAT to be complete. apply asap to be competitive.
YR4- whatever
just note: genchem should be taken first year
bio:whenever will fit into your schedule the easiest, it depends when you need to take physics for engineering. also note engineering physics and genchem may sometimes be different then science majors chem and physics, and you need 1 year of it to apply! let me know if you have any questions
also: check with your pre-health advisor!
