Dear SDN students!
My chemistry professor will not submit my LOR until late August since she had some personal problems. She told me she can submit in late August. She will submit electronically.
Can i still submit my application on June?
What is the best way to do in this situation?

I'd say that's going to make a difference. Many schools start their file reviews in Aug. and having your file complete at the end of the month will probably set you back on the queue.

Maybe there is somewhere on the application that you can explain your situation? Then have your prof make include some details with the letter? Or contact the schools individually?

Unless you're really riding on this letter to get you accepted, I think that applying early with a slightly more generic letter from another prof would be better than applying 3 months after registration opens with any letter... But I dunno.

Is it possible to find another letter now and submit it to have a complete application, and then submit an additional letter at a later time?

dont sweat it. as long as you get your other letters in and your application out the door it will be ok. A great letter from a professor who knows you is better than a generic one any day. People on these forums make it seem like august= missing the boat. i started getting interviews from some schools without even having a complete application, and i submitted in september. just make sure everything else is in.
