Nice job on the DAT! What's your AA/TS?

Stats are a little low for Maryland.

sciGPA slightly low, but man, the QR... if it was 16, it wouldn't be as bad. Some schools don't care but some might not be ok with thw 15... check with the schools before you apply, I'd say.

I'm thinking of postbacc-ing too. i just graduated this year though.
what classes did you take as a postbacc? and how many credits?
your stats are really similar to mine, good improvement on the DAT
i think you have a decent shot, i dont think many schools care too much about QR

Hey, come to LECOM with me; we'll be the first class, LOL.

Just to let ya'll know, the average QR for LSU this year was a 15. Don't sweat the QR too much.

Nice jobbbb on the DAT 😀😀😀 im jealous that part of battle is over for you

I really will not retake for QR- I don't want to say its not low or anything it is but.....
I'm just ....... not going to study QR and risk the other scores............

Man, forget about taking it again. You did awesome and all the important sections were 20 or higher. Go celebrate.

Yeah don't worry about your QR score. Most schools value this less than any other numerical value. They DO care about your SGPA which is pretty low. You have a legitimate shot at NYU, Temple, maybe Tufts and Boston. The others are long shots...depending on the strength of EC's, personal statement etc. you might get an interview, blow their socks off and get an acceptance. I would also not be too disappointed if you get a couple interviews and no acceptances. It may be in your best interest to look into a post-bac or masters in the meantime to pull up your SGPA.

While it is low for a total, it would probably be better to know his post-bac gpa and how he performed his last couple of years

haha is that a joke

Haha... doubt schools pay that much attention to QR but nonetheless when you see something like that, it'll leave a certain impression in your mind like, "Hmm..." or "Ohhh..."

But yes, no retake and apply now!

👍👍 thanks!

well... tbh I graduated in May and took just about every bio class i could so i didnt have much options after my major unless it was graduate courses
but i took microbio and advanced developmental this past semester, I only did one semester of 'postbacc' and it brought my science to 3.14 [i already have alot of credits]

bump anyone have some insight on my chances as a MD resident to Umaryland?!?!?!

Your GPAs are a little below the average but your DAT is a little above the average. I think if you really want to go to dental school it would be wise to apply to more like 10-15 schools just in case.

I would also suggest to keep on taking post bac classes. That way just in case you don't get in this year, you wont look idle and will be improving your GPA and app. Also, if you take a couple classes this fall semester, you could also send in a academic update (if you have not been interviewed/accepted by then) which will boost your app.

Good luck!!! 😀

Had very similar stats to you and got interviews to BU, NYU, and VCU pretty early so you should be good with those too. Didn't apply to any of the others so dunno bout the rest of the other schools. Good Luck!
