As have many of you, I have seen a zillion "what are my chances" threads from the last year. Although I should probably already have a good idea of my chances, it feels different when it comes to evaluating yourself! I am taking the DAT in early July right after I apply ( because i am just taking Ochem 2 this semester). Let me know what you think!

Nutritional Sciences Major
oGPA - 3.38
SciGPA ~3.6

-75 hours shadowing
-100 hours volunteering at dental clinic
-Dominican republic one week long volunteer mission
-Teaching Assistant position for a nutrition course
-Teaching Assistant for a molecular biology course next year

Secretary of a fraternity for one semester
Treasure of Airsoft club for 2 semesters

Thats about it. Appreciate the input. I know it's probably tough without my DAT

Apply to ~15 schools. Take DAT as soon as you can but don't rush it. I would say if you have around 20 DAT, your chance is very good.

Thanks for the info. I was planning on at least that many schools. As far as the DAT, I don't want to rush it but I do want to take it while Ochem2 is semi-fresh in my mind haha.

Nice stats. If you aim high for the DAT in each section and apply really early, then I think you should be ok with 10 schools too. It will save you money 🙂

Well, shouldn't you wait until you take the DAT before starting a 'what are my chances' thread? Since DAT is the most important factor, mind as well throw a dart at a board. You can even put all 60 dental schools on the dart board.
