Not going to sugar coat this, the poor SMP performance is going to be extremely detrimental to your chances. The general wisdom regarding a SMP is that it is supposed to show you are able to handle a medical school curriculum and you are supposed to ace a SMP (3.7+). Failing a SMP course may be something that you are not able to recover from. It's been a rough year for you no doubt, but stressful events will happen when you are a medical student and a resident and you still need to perform.

Curious what @Goro has to stay about the SMP performance and your chances.

Do you think doing a post-bacc might help?

With a sGPA under 3.0 and now an SMP under 3.0 to be honest MD chance is gone. You may be able to get into a DO school but it will be hard. SMP programs are high risk and high reward so even though it was an abnormal year many schools will see your grade as a negative. You should have withdrawn or seen if you could have deferred with all the personal issues since schools are much more likely to help when issues come up rather than in retrospect.
