NAD+ vs. NADP+

This is from a Hyperlearning Science Workbook, but the question itself is more general.

I know that NADP+ has phosphate group addition to NAD+, right? And, only NAD+ is able to participate in oxidative phosphorylation. Is there any other difference that I should know though?

Probably nothing else. Some NAD+ is converted into NADP+.

NADPH is responsible for certain things in the immune system cells, like making free radicals which kill pathogens. But that's really more information than you need to know.

NAD+/NADH is catabolic while NADP+/NADPH is anabolic. that's all you need to know

Just know that NADPH is used in FA synthesis, amino acid synthesis, and involved in calvin cycle. And that most of it is generated during the TCA cycle. NADH main role is to provide a lot of the H+ for oxidative phosphorylation and is generated in TCA and glycolysis.

My EK 1001 book said that NADPH was produced largely in the PPP cycle, not the TCA.

Yes, NADPH is produced, to a large extent, in the PPP, not the TCA. The TCA products that can be used in redox, if I remember correctly, are NADH and FADH2.
