Here are my stats. I'm wondering if I should apply to more programs. What do you guys/gals think? The schools I applied to are my top choices, but I am leaning towards NAU (if I get accepted). I thought that other students who have applied to NAU this year could post their stats too.

Hey astarblaze- do you know if NAU uses the undergrad cumulative gpa or the overall cumulative gpa when making decisions for interview offers? Thanks!

I believe they use overall, but not 100% sure.

Ok thanks, I appreciate it! Based on the way it's worded on their website I think that's right but just wanted to check since I noticed in another thread you had been able to attend a talk from the program director.

Looks like NAU interview offers are coming out! I just received an interview invite from them through email. :)
Has anyone else heard back?

My interview is scheduled for 1/28. I'm undecided whether I will end up attending however. :)

Congrats on the interviews!

I thought I'd at least get an interview for NAU. Apparently my GPA is too low at 3.63c 3.73p with a high GRE as an out-of-stater.

I got an interview as well, but declined the offer so hopefully that'll open up another spot!

Congrats to everyone that got an interview! I got denied (again)... last year I applied I was denied because my application wasn't competitive enough. This year the email didn't say why, but I'm guessing that's it.

I too got an interview at the Flagstaff location on 1/28 at 930 am. Good luck to everyone!

Does anyone know what the interviews are like?

Does anyone know what the interviews are like?

In past years they did multiple (3) one-on-one interviews. From the email, it sounds like they've changed things up this year and are now doing a single panel-style interview, so it'll probably be pretty different from prior years, just because of the format switch.

Yeah I got denied as well. Anyone who got an interview want to put up their stats????

Yeah I got denied as well. Anyone who got an interview want to put up their stats????

NAU selects applicants for interviews just based off of GPA and GRE scores, with different cut-offs for in-state (easier to get an interview) and out-of-state. They don't even look at the rest of your application when picking who to interview. So if you didn't get an interview, it's because your stats didn't meet this year's cutoffs.

I'm in-state, cum GPA: 3.6, pre req: 4.0, GRE: 169V 169Q 4.5A

Congrats to everyone on their interview invites! Does anyone have any idea how many applicants they interview? Just wondering what the odds are!

I went to a presentation by the program director, and he gave us a ballpark number of ~300. I don't think he was intending to be very precise though.

I heard everyone gets accepted of waitlisted that was interviewed. Is that true?

Really easy. They asked normal interview questions with 3 interviewers and 3 interviewees. They mostly want to get to know you.
It really did seem like they just wanted to get to know me. It did not feel like they were expecting me to show off. Very comfortable interview with some easy to get along with interviewers. I was able to show some personality, get some laughs, and make it natural. I sure hope I am what they're looking for!
