I got 2 away offers for EM recently, one in August at a program I'm lukewarm to and another in September at a program I'm very excited about. Problem is that the date range for the September program ends after applications are available to programs. So right now my application would look like:
- Home AI SLOE
- Away #1 SLOE
- Individual LOR?
- Delayed Away #2 SLOE
Does the perceived reputation of the SLOE location affect its interpretation, if that makes sense? To my understanding, the first away is at a location that is well known in the field of medicine at large, but not necessarily emergency medicine. Will my second away not finishing until a week after applications affect the usefulness of its SLOE?
