Hello everybody! I appeared for nbde part1 two weeks back. I wanted to share my experience because I have myself learnt so much from this forum, from others' experience. 🙂
I studied from decks, kaplan notes, question bank and thru' wiki. Googled most of the topics I was not sure of. Made notes of the things that I thought had to be memorized like different syndromes, biochem cycles, derivatives of vitamins, amino acids etc.Try doing the whole exam 2-3 times b4 u appear. It kind of helps u sit thru' the exam on that day.
A day before the exam just went thru' these notes.
Try to sleep early the night b4 the exam. You have to have a fresh mind to endure through the day. Take the break, it is needed. Eat something and try to relax.
First section was comparitively simple or may be I was not tired then. I was really tired during the second half. So had to think hard even for simple questions. There were 30-40 questions which I had never come across, not even anything similar. There were lot of questions on anatomy of tooth and anomalies, a few on DNA replication and cloning, coenzymes, encephalitis, dysguesia, nerve supply to larynx, foraminas, muscle attachments, artherosclerosis.
No queston on mandibular movt. for me, though I was hoping there will be quite a few. The testlets were simple. Could answer them but had doubts about 2-3 questions.
There is enough time for all the questions. Do not rush into answering. Read the questions slowly. I managed to finish both the sections an hour earlier, reviewed the marked questions and still had time to review most of the questions again. Please review all b4 u quit. I came across 2-3 questions which appeared unanswered though I had answered them. May be the response was not recorded.
If you have read the question before and still don't recollect the answer, it is mostly the first answer that comes to your mind which is correct, unless u can come to conclusion by way of deleting the wrong ones.
I was very nervous 2 weeks b4 the exam and tried some relaxation techniques. You can try that too...it really helps.
Lastly, all my best wishes to everybody who is appearing for the exam.It feels nice once it is over. So enjoy!!👍
