hi.
i gave my nbde 1 yesterday....
exam was ok..not very easy..not very tough...topics r the same from the old papers and decks..but questions r twisted and confusing.....
no diagrams or tooth movement....
but questions on easy topics r also twisted.....
testlets r the easiest part....
if any1 knows the real scoring system, pls let me know..

hi docsmiley,
u went through the experience so what u recommend ??
how to manage those twisted questions and how to prepare for them??
what topics to stress on ..and how many days do u think is good enough for revision ..and how to revise ...??
i really appreciate ur answers to my question ..cause i am scared to death from this exam 🙁

hi..foer the twisted questions..just awareness..a lot depends on the day of the exam...do decks and old papers thoroughly....they ask questions frm there...
i have not received the raw score during the test...they vl mail it later...
but i hav heard that the 3 digit raw score is not the right no of questions that we answer..ther is sum other way to calculate our score based on a plot of our performance against the performance of all other candidates..am not sure..does anyone know the exact sysyem??
and drkooks..dnt worry..abt the exam..read basics thoroughly...
revise twice at least...decks and old papers...
al the best..u vl be fine..

docsmiley,
thanks for ur support 🙂
one more question plz ..how long did u take to revise and how u planned ur revision
thanks alot and good luck for ur score and tell us ur news when u receive it

hi coldfront..
there were alot of repeats on the test..sum directly from the released papers..say 50to 60%....

[Hi docsmiley,

cud u please share more info like How many mths u prepared? I have just started with kaplan book. I am planning to take NBDE by june. I cant study morethan 4-5 hrs a day. I have a 4 yr old daughter. so, its really tough. Would i be able to take up by june? please give me ur inputs

Just a suggestion to folks preparing for Part I, the time of preparation varies interpersonally. It could take anywhere b/n 2-6 months for a thorough preparation (I believe). Procuring the material is important and depending upon your convenience and pace, the time factor may vary. I know that it gives a false sense of satisfaction (encouragement) when someone says "I prepared for 2 months and cracked the exam". It does not work out that way all the time, you know. Please organize your material, lay out a plan and figure out for yourself how long it takes for you to prepare well for the Exam.
Good luck!

Asian Dentist, once a wise man told me dont worry abut the difficult or the easy question, try to answer as many question right as possible.& then u keep moving on there scoring scale.whatever is dat scale😀. so forget abut there scoring system.Open your books & study very very very hard🙂.
