this is really bad after waiting for more than 3 weeks for the scores i got fail score in part 2 73% -358/500 y'day
feel shattered dunno wat to do
is there any use for audit of scores any suggestions pls...
Hey Blasphy... I really know how you feel and I am sooo sorry!!! I just got my results today and they arrived 2 weeks and 1 day after taking my exam. I FAILED with a 74! - 320/500. My exam was extremely difficult. I got one of those exams that was subjective and most of the questions were not in any of the study material. There isn't much we can do at this point. I am really annoyed that I failed, but I went into this exam knowing the material and I was well prepared. I seriously studied for 1.5 months and my performance on this exam would have been the same if I had studied for a week. We just have to take it again. I don't remember most of the questions from my exam since I had never seen the topics in any study material. Can you believe that tuft's pharm didn't even help me on the exam? the decks and Mosby's did help with certain topics, but it did not help for the majority of my exam. It was a total diaster. To be honest, I don't know where I could have studied from that would have the material that was on my exam.
Not sure about the audit. Honestly I don't think your score will change, but you can give it a try. It won't hurt you.
I took the test a month ago it was my second attemp. I also found that the test was really difficult but thanks God I got an 82.
I think what it made a huge difference this time was that I took enough time to review all the material that i studied (Mosby, Tufts, dental decks and released papers) I reviewed mosby in 4 days ( read whole book), Tufts 2 days and 4 days to review released papers. Read carefully don't leave anything out.
Find the time to study was really hard for me because I work full time but I took 10 days of vacation to review all the material. Good luck and study hard!!!!!
i started past papers two days back and i get one mcq rite after messing up ten.
i dont have tufts book.i have done

p.s i m a foreign graduate...i have seen this perio chat first time in my life...perio endo section is taking me forever and i just dont get so many things ...
🙁 i swear i feel like pulling my hair out and cry out loud
i have to exit usa b4 14th..and i m taking my exam in 11-12th..so i cant delay it even one day...wat shud i focus on in these 23 days to pass part 2....

@odontalgia...ok so released papers from 93 onwards...i`ve done mosby`s(skipped patient managment unit) twice and dental decks pretty good...and i`ve taken kaplan online exam.
thts pretty much all i m capable to do i think...if u have any further tips please give me
and i cant thank u enough for your feedback...seriously ..i appreciate it mate
Hi Stig. I agree with Odontologia, but I do not think it is wise to skip the pt managment section. You should read it because it is important! Maybe you should take a day off just so you can process everything that you have studied so far. You still have more than 2 weeks left and you will be able to review the material. You've done a lot so far. Don't worry about what you are getting wrong in the released papers. Just keep on doing them over and over again until you feel comfortable. If you are getting that many wrong, focus on those exams for the next couple of days and I bet you will feel much better about them. After a while of answering those questions, you will be able to understand better all that you have studied. Aside from all the studying, it's a lot of practice. Don't give up and good luck!

@odontalgia and endodontia.....i just checkd my test packet it says
`national boards dental examination part 2 (compiled released items from approximately 1998-2005)
but it just has one paper?...i never checked ..i was expecting to have every paper from 1998-2005 when i bought it...everyone has the same thing? or u ppl have 7 different papers? i hope u guys are gettin my question....
yeah, there are 3 tests:
1993 w/several hundred ?s
98/05 - i think 300 ?s
00/08 - i think 200?s
so seems like you're in the right track.

At last, after more than a month of waiting I received my score for NBDE II-81.Gathered 367 out of 500 and 69 in clinical cases. Not stellar of course, but considering the difficulty of the exam it is quite satisfactory for me. The sources I used were Mosby 2,DD II,All released questions from 78 to 08.A few reference books on different subjects, when I could not find an answer in the aforementioned ones. That's it.God luck to all who is preparing or waiting for the results!
Hi WTP,
I'm glad for you for passing, it's a good score! How many times did you go through MOsby, DD and papers? Where the old papers useful at all?
I just started studying for the exam. I'm taking it easy, I'm a FTD and what to pass it once and for good. I plan to take it sometime in the spring. I would like to have a study partner, I'm in DC area, so pm me if interested.
Good luck to all of us!
Hi! I read mosby 2 times,dd twice, and released qs. 3 times, and I forgot to mention the tufts papers for pharmacology, which I also read a couple of times.Yes old papers are very useful,I would say they are crucial. and the latest ones, I mean 1998-2005 and 2000-2008 predicted pretty accurately my score at the real test.So I can not stress enough the importance of the released papers.
its 372/500 and 73/100 on the cases...hope this helps
Can anyone please explain?
I read on ADAs Pdf of FAQ that first day is 200 in moring

So she got 375/ overall out of 500 whole test or is it 500 forst day and she did 73/100 on the cases the second day which is 600 questions.
???
first day - 400qs.,second day - 100 qs.in the report 73/100 - those 73qs. are already included in 500qs.

Any hints on cases section 2nd day how to study for it?
I have old decks 2001, does it really matter to get the new 2011 ones, if I have Mosby, ada released exams K and L and tufts pharma section...
Anyone?

I can neither comment on 2001 nor 2011 DDII, I only have 2007-2008 edition. Regarding the clinical cases, the only ones I used where from 1993,1998-2005 and 2000-2008 ASDA released papers. And I scored very similar on them as on a real exam.
again but I just happen to slip 2 point past the required the 75. 👍 . I know my scores are lower than most I have seen posted, but my exam was really hard, asking things that had nothing to do with dentistry directly. The point I'm trying to make is those that have failed multiple of times, continue to study hard and your time will comeI am new to SDN an have only posted once, but I have gained so much from others who have and through their stories (such people as Ms Toothy awesome inspiration) I decided to post my experience. I sat for part 2 on Nov 17th and 18th for the 4th time, yes the 4th. It was a humbling year and overall experience and I got relly epressed many times, but as my husband (who was my classmate) always said "it's not a matter of if just a matter of when" , and now it's over! I got my scores tonight did not check my mail earlier today as I never suspected to get the results until next week it has only been a week since I took the exam and I passed!! I got 392/500 giving me a cumulative score of 87%. Never, never give up on your dreams work hard, and study as much relevant info as you can, and you will do it. I studied old exams, Tufts, decks (spent more time looking at the Decks in the areas I waas weak in), kapln Q Bank, and I also was fortunate to find a study partner in thelast month or so here on SDN who lived 2 hrs from me and we helped each othe (this helpe so much) Thanks study partner! Having a great support group means the world, and I had the best ever in my husband.
