I think you are right !!i dont think there is a curve...cause four of my friends passed with scores ranged from 316 - 327 the first time they took it...
so its this whole crap is bull ****
When did you take your last one ?!?!?!?1st (287):73
2nd (300):73
3rd (327): 74
I am appealing to be able to take the test sooner than the 12 months scheduled after your third try...does anyone know if it works? anyone with experience? let me know..
thanks
I had already posted a couple of times that one of the best resources for pt mgt is mosbys. Read this section before the exam, trust me, it will be very helpful! Decks in this subject was VERY poor in my experience.
There were many tx planning ?s for me both the first and second day.. and this was kind of frustrating because there were tx planning ?s regarding prost, operative, pedo, ortho etc. So in each section u study, pay particular attn to the subject of tx planning, especially in the prost. section (removable vs. fixed) and OS (implants). As single mom says, a good idea is to spend good time reviewing path pictures from wherever you can find them. You will be thankful you did. Good luck!
When did you take your last one ?!?!?!?
I really feel sad about your situation....but i also took on sep 1 ,2....my second chance and i passed with 313....got 75. i have failed to understand how it goes.................I took the last one Sept 1st, 2nd 2009...

I posted the below message about a year ago and I hope you guys benefit from this and all pass the part II
Nobody should be taking part II unless........![]()
1. Nobody should dare to take NBDE part II unless you've read Mosbys 5 times, Dental decks 3 times, released exams (93 and 03) 5 times (make sure to memorize all the answers), open questions posted by SDN members (there are several threads on this board) twice as you'll see a lot of similar or same questions, Oral pathology books with pictures at least once a day for 3 months.
2. Keep in mind that only 30 percent of the 2nd timers pass Part 2 as ADA won't give you any curve for the 2nd timers. That's why most 2nd time examees end up getting 74.
3. Don't take the exam just to see what it's like. If you don't pass first time, your chance of passing will decrease substantially. In other words, don't take the exam unless you're ready to ace the exam.
4. Don't listen to those liars who claim to have passed the exam with only one week of studying.
5. Read this post again, go to the library and start studying.

second day score ...45/100HI DENDOC,
Congratulations on your success! Would you please tell what was your score on day 2.
Thanks🙂

so sorry to here....when did you take it? a 337 for a 73 is wrong....how can that be? i feel really bad for you...people pass with 320s .....ada is messed up, i hate them...
im taking it soon again and getting scared cause everyone who posts say that once they fail its hard to pass...
my tested day was sept 21, 22, 2009
should i do the audit??
How are your scores compared to national mean....just trying to figure out...what happened because 337 is a huge number......But i got with 337
and day2 56/100
my score is 73?? why?? but it was my 4th times...😡
How are your scores compared to national mean....just trying to figure out...what happened because 337 is a huge number......
First time I took I had 294 and 64 on second day but 4-5 points below avg mean almost in all subjects.
This time I have 1-2 points below but in some subjects I have 4-5 points above avg mean....its cofnuising
Here are the details..............
How much time to study....I would say it varies...I took 3-4 months...with breaks.A friend of mine just took two months and she passed.
How many times did you study decks and ..........?I would say doesnt matter how many times ,what matters is how well you study it...A friend of mine studied decks just once and gave the exam and passed.Another friend took 3-4 months and passed.she studied decks and mosby and released Q papers.I flunked first time after studing for 3-4 months...same material .....so does not matter.
Second time I decided to change my way...did some research...and studied..Dental secrets,NORman K wood, decks, mosby,Released Q papers...(J,K,L).Just revised decks and mosby 2 times,The other books just read them once.
Some of the topics I did differently....
Implants.....read a chapter from schillingburg
oral pathology text book...just look at pictures....trust me helps a lot.
In pedo...child behaviour management ....read the topic in detail...
in perio treatment planning...and flaps.....
Pharma .....decks are absolutely sufficient.....
patient management...mosby...I dont know if anything else is there.
So i would say...please guys dont try and follow somebody...about how many times and how many months but see the material ,take advice and make a way of your own......because every brain is different.
After taking it twice....75 is not a great score because i barely managed to pass...there are people out there who have scores really in 80"s...in part 2.But after reading this thread I know even i was like others on the other side of the fence....and anybody"s detailed post would give me mental relaxation ....so i decided to write it.
Please try and help each other....Any more Questipns....always welcome...
ALL THE BEST TO YOU. ALL.......
This is the book...if u dont have it...just use google to see images for things.
1st (287):73
2nd (300):73
3rd (327): 74

My materials are Decks, Old exams and Tuft's Phamaco review which is really helpful. But its not enough for implants and Patient management.
Hi All,
Is the day 2 of part II in a testlet form (would mean that there are less than 100 different cases but one case might have several sub-questions/testlets as in clinical vignette section of part -I) OR are there 100 different cases as individual questions ?
Thank you.
Everyone seems so depressing on sdn about part II. Here is some hope....
Studied decks 2.5 times...First aid 1 time...no old tests
score 1st time: 80 374/500 72/100
I thought I failed after taking it like everyone else thought...so go figure.

What's your source on "only 30% of 2nd timers passing part 2"? or are you speculating?I posted the below message about a year ago and I hope you guys benefit from this and all pass the part II

Here is the most recent official ADA report on Part 2 passing rates.

If you did your DMD/DDS in the US, and didn't pass the test on your 2nd attempt, then you are in the 3-4% of people who need to re-take it the 3rd time. Beyond this, it's very rare - like less than 1% of the total. So I don't know why people on this thread are so quick on suing the ADA. Yes, there are flaws in the scoring system, but this is based on the version of the exam the candidate takes, i.e. a score of 325 could be a pass on one test, but a fail on another test. This is something that JCNDE tells candidates before they take the test, but most people don't bother looking it up until they run into issues.
Good luck and stay positive.

Hi All,
You may see my 2 exam results for part 2. And, even, I answered 406 question right, I failed( 30% increase not enough to jump from 71 to 75???????)
I am planning to sue and would like to do as a class action law suit against ADA's shark attorneys. Anybody wants to join me or any suggestion, please, let me know....
I can climb every single mountain, as long as, somebody stops throwing rocks to my face!!!!!!!! ADA made me bleeding very badly....🙁
I just found out that I failed for the third time.
I got 336/500. 74%
ugh. So frustrating. Not sure what to do with my life and 200k of debt for the next year. So upset. I studied my ass off and not sure what else I couldve done.
Sorry, I upload one more time the exams' comparison....

i want to start preparing for part 2 , plz suggest which book to go thorugh ? and ur studying strategy plzgot my result.....finally 82........ filled in the new jersey application yesterday.....i hope this looks respectable to them. 🙁
I am studying my *** off got 71, 74, and (hopefully if pass this time), but I from what I'm seeing here no one seems to be posting about passing the 3rd time. It seems as if you need a solid 340 to pass regardless of what test you have; I have never seen that number fail the canidate. However the guy who got over 400 Q's right, should not have failed. That's over 80% raw score! If you can shine light on the matter plz give some feedback.😕
if anybody with 375/500 has failed this part2? i scored only 73 after so much hard work. wat should i study now?
