hi all
i wrote part 2 in june and scored only 77.i am planning to repeat it beforenext yr.
i studied decks perfectly last time and also did all the q papers twice.even then only 77.🙁
can anyone suggest what else i need.i dont have mosby.is it worth buying it?
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

honestly i would be delighted w/your scores!! not sure you want to follow the advice from someone who's failed the exam, but i'll tell you this: after my exam in trying to find some of the answers to the exam ?s i found mosbys to have very relevant information i could not find on decks or anywhere else, so IMO, mosbys is a good study guide.

Congratulations on passing!! I would be very happy if I were you. There are many repeaters out there. Mosby's is a good resource.

What was your total correct out of 500 and when in june did you take it? thanks.

i have a doubt in a question frm decks ,,
According to buccal object rule when the xray is repositioned either at a more mesial or distal angulation and a film is exposed the root or canal farther frm film ( buccal ) will move:

-same direction
or opposite direction

can u plz explain this for me ..

It will move opp direction.there is a technique called SLOB which states tht same lingual opp buccal.which ever side u take X-ray like mesial or distal the buccal will move away.the lingual will remain on the side where the x-ray tube is positioned.

i am not sure if i can tell u this.i got a lot of q's on behaviour management, community dentistry and ethics.i did not have many q's on implants. hardly abt 10 q's from decks.half hr into the exam and i knew it would be a miracle if i got more than 80.i am glad i passed atleast.i hve no clue as to where to study these topics from.any inputs?

i had 355 correct out of 500 and 64 correct in the case based

hey thanks ,,yups i too agree thats why i got confused since in decks it says in same direction ,,so i guess its an error in ther rite?

Mun80,

I used Dental Board Busters, it had all the information needed to do very well on the NBDE in one book. I glanced at other references first, some were too detailed, and some were not focused enough. You want a study guide that is in a book format, not a set of flash cards. When was the last time you studied with flash cards? Maybe that's why you didn't retain all the information that was in the decks. Everyone studies differently, just telling you what helped me out. I wish you all the best!
