Hi,
I plan to give my Part2 exam in the 2nd week of may.
Just got my material together yesterday.
plan to start from today.
I have been out of school for 2 and a half years.
Does anyone think that 1 month preparation is enough to crack part2?
I dont know if its possible but i sure as hell am gonna try.
I am requesting every one who wants to give their part 2 in the near future, and those who have already succeeded, to put in their ideas for the rest of us.
Havent actually planned anything yet but today i wanna be done with atleast 1 reading of the kaplan review book. Ive got less than 15 hrs to do it.
I'll keep you posted
lotsa luck to everyone!!!

Hi,
i am also planning to give exam in may. I have done almost half decks. Today I will be starting with pharmacology. Please inform me about your progress in prepration. May be in this way we can motivate each other to study.

Hi
I plan to take part2 too. Just read through Kaplan once...but it seems this book does not help at all. I want to know what good material to crack part2?
thanks

Hi,
Thanx for the advice dentalcn, Even I felt the same way while goin thru the review book. It is nowhere near enough. but I too would advice everyone to start with one reading bcoz it sort of freshened my mind in general as i was outof school for a long time and i felt it was a god beginning.
Composit16, we definitely can motivate each other, did you finish what you planned yesterday?
I planned to complete the review book, however, i could do only the public health, operative, prostho, perio and otho/pedo.
Have a long way to go yet.
hope to finish atleat 1 subjects decks today along with the rest of the review book.
I cannot offer advice on which material is the best to study bcoz i have just started reading stuff, but i will definitely keep eveyone posted as i go on.
good luck everyone!!

If you are in the Class of 2010 like it says in your quote line, there is no way you are taking Part 2 of the National Boards this summer. I'm sorry, you're just not.

I also have a book "dental secrets" by S. Sonis, pretty good I think. any other sugesstions? what do you guys think about the crack the NBDE test simulation? is it worth it?
thanks

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that Elsevier now has Mosby's Review for the NBDE Part I and II available. You can find more information on these products at www.us.elsevierhealth.com/Dentistry
Search for NBDE and you will find exactly what you want! 🙂

Zuzza--
Comparing these 2 Elsevier products, I would definitely recommend the NBDE review products over the Odell book. The Odell book DOES give good practice with case scenarios (and it looks like Loco81 had a good experience with it!), but there are a couple things you might want to take into consideration:

1. Clinical Problem Solving in Dentistry is an Elsevier Limited book, which means it was published by our Elsevier 'cousins' in the UK, so I'm not sure the information would be directly applicable if you're looking for NBDE-specific content!

2. The NBDE Part II book includes a CD-ROM with case studies and case-based questions based on real people--you can click through the PowerPoint case presentations at your own pace.

A little note from our marketing buddies to give you more info:
Part II of Mosby’s Review for the NBDE is accompanied by an inclusive case-study CD-ROM, featuring a sample exam in electronic format similar to the one used by the ASDA, plus challenging case scenarios assembled by leading dental faculty of the Harvard University School of Dentistry. These cases offer students the opportunity to apply the concepts learned in their studies to real-life situations as they will be required to do on Part II of the NBDE, and include 100 case-based exam questions, just like the real exam.

Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any more questions--we'll be on the Elsevier forum and lurking in the NBDE forum today and tomorrow! 😎

hello!
I just bought Mosby review for part 2, i think it is really good and explains everything in brief. I loved it. Did anybody else go through? how did u find the book.

HI
I have gone through the Mosby riview part 2. It was very good, but i felt problem when i was giving the test on their CD. After answering 168 questions and sometimes after 245 questions the program shows error and shut down automatically. If i go through the study mood then this doesn't happen. I dont know whether you are facing the same problem. I contacted with thier technical support. They gave me some instructions regarding the setting of my PC, but that didn't work. Maybe you have noticed that the questions and answers that are in the CD are exactly the same which are in their book in the sample test section.
