Hey guys....Taking my part I boards in about 3.5 weeks and still have anatomic sciences left to do. I finished up everything else (physiology, micro, biochem, dental anatomy) using the Kaplan Lecture Notes and then going over the dental decks a couple of times. I still want to go over old exams if I have the time.

I have been putting off anatomy till the end - since its what I really suck at.

Anyone know a good way to study anatomy...I am trying to use the Kaplan book and then reinforce it with information from the decks....but the Kaplan book seems to jump around with the anatomy stuff...

Just getting kinda flustered with the anatomy section...

help!

thanks.

Make sure you know head/neck cold. I used my Netter's for Dentistry text and it was excellent. Make sure you know TMJ histology!! If you have time (I didn't), go through your dissector manual with your atlas.

Man- you have 3.5 weeks left? You have PLENTY of time! I spent 3 weeks total studying for boards!!

For anatomy, I honestly feel Decks is more than enough and for references we can use the sources like Wiki and kaplan esp cranial nerves to have a better idea. I have not used the Netter's so no idea abt it.
Hey Hup,
How did you do it in just 3 weeks? It's amazin! Pls do let us know the strategy if you don't mind. Thanks

hey thanks guys...I am kinda stressed out right now...anatomy is not one of my great subjects...I rather do biochem or physiology any day rather than anatomy...

anyone have any suggestions on where I start with anatomy...should I just jump into the decks?

I am trying to look for Netters Anatomy for Dentistry and can't really find it in any of the bookstores. The only place is online - but kinda worried that it will be shipped too late...

Should I just jump into the decks...

Definitely jump into the decks. Many agree that it is sufficient.

You're in luck... I believe anatomy was probably the most straight forward subject on the NBDE 1.

the best way to start is to watch the Acland's DVD Atlas of Human anatomy , you can buy it online ( you need DVD 4 and 5 ) for the head and neck .
this makes you familer with the subject and understand it very well , then u read the Decks smooth and easy

good luck for every body,,,,,, I am going to give my exam on October ...
