nbde part1 december2008

it seems like people who took part1 in december 2008 got 80,81 82 83 84 and few with 85 inspite of studying all material.is there any specific month to get high score??everyone is advising as if we people didnt study any thing.please tell me is there anyone got more than 85 in december 2008(not including retaker).i am reallly frustrated with my preparation.i dont know how to improve.

Hi Kittu, I took exam on 29th Dec 2008. I thought it was really very tough exam. Still managed to get composite score 85, may be becoz there were many difficult questions. when did you give ur exam? and how much did u score?

hi i took on dec 24rth. got 82. correct responses 297. my paper was not tough. 50% was very easy and 50% was tough.

took December 21 and got an 86. i also know of 2 other scores which were another 86 and an 88 from people that tested around mid to late dec.

I didnt study decks or first aid.
I used netter's head and neck anatomy for dentistry,microbiology made ridiculously simple,Kaplan NBDE part1 book,Concise Dental Anatomy and Morphology,and old released papers.I used web for physiology systems.

NBDE is totally different from USMLE,so i dont think there is a benefit to study from high yield series.NBDE part 1 doesnt measure your medical skills,we wont be medical doctors so better stay away from USMLE notes.Before each chapter plan what you will learn after your studies.Make yourself basic summaries and you will do fine.

I never looked at USMLE , and scored 90 too

study whatever you wanna study mate,but the reason i didnt score 95 was because of my bio/physio section.I believe instead of studying lippincott,all those useless reactions if i studied only rate limiting reactions i would score much higher.

You should have done the biochem and physio Usmle videos mate,you would def have made 95.

i am from india.i moved here on march 08.brought all materals kaplan nbdepart1,kaplan q-bnak,kaplan supplementary tests and all asda papers from 1977-2005 and dental decks.i studied daily 10-11 hrs including weekend.1st i read kaplan then decks and started revising decks 4-5times.did all these q papers.i revised all qs ppaer 3times.before 1month to my exam i took nbde crack 3mocks.i got 87,84,83.finally before 1week i revised all qs papers.and 1day before kapln nbde book.i got many qs from asda papers.150qs were very basic and new to me.i tried my best to to do..around 102 qs went wrong.please tell me what mistake i did in my preparation ??how should i improve.i want to die...is there anyway i can improve??i cant neither give up the exam nor sit at home.what should i do.

Well i dont wanna be proud but i got 92 and admission in MS surgery Indiana univ directly,iam not doing basic dds,DIRECTLY MS
going to be a specialist dude.i did not do Gre also.
I JUST DID USMLE VIDEOS AND LECTURE NOTES FOR ALL SUBJECTS THATS IT for 2 months,and did old ques ,revised with decks each subject 3 hrs thats all. [SO pm me your id will scan will send you my univ invite] .As for future with MS i can teach and practice immediately in 10 states namely illinois,arizona,texas,kansas,minnesota,washington,[to name a few ]and NEW YORK STATE if you have a green card,i am planning on BIG apple.
