subliminal fringe of motar neuron pool is a useful concept in explaining the phenomenon of??

1.direct inhibition
2.reciprocal inervation
3.central facilitation.
4.monosynaptic conduction.

ans:central facilitation

can anyone explain this....i didnt understand.

thanks.

Neuronal Pool
  • Discharge zone (liminal zone) - motor neurons activated by an afferent volley. Will usually include homonymous and synergistic motor neurons to muscles of a joint.
  • Subliminal fringe (facilitated zone) - usually includes motor neurons to muscles synergistic to those of the discharge zone. May not be fired by the afferent volley but, receive excitatory synapses (EPSPs) which makes it easier for subsequent afferent volleys to fire them (facilitation).

Discharge and Facilitated Zones

(Facilitated zone = subthreshold zone = subliminal zone)

Permits localization of sensory stimuli.

Increased Stimulus Increases the
Size Of the Neuronal Pool

In the bottom line the thing is that motor neurons from the subliminal zone will innervates muscles nearby the muscle from which affernt are rising..this will cause better and easier localization and transmission of the affernt stumuli.

the pH of the solution having 10*(-5)M concentration of OH- ion is
1) 5.
2) 7.
3) 9.
4) determinable only if pKa is known
5) determinable only if the base composition is known.

answer is 3rd option.... i don't understand this.. help?

As per rule [H]+[OH] =14
here [OH]=5 so 14-5=9 and is the answer
