don't start with nbme 1. do that one last if you want to see 'improvement'

You won't score significantly higher on form 1. The NBME sets the average and SD to be the same for all 4. The questions are easier than the other 3, but the scores are similar.

Really😱 tell that to the many people that score more
than 420 on NBME1 and FAIL THE TEST

And Im talking about ALOT of people not a handfull, Im talking about ALOT.

blz: you are giving people a false positive, in one way is better to go more confident to the exam.

Then how do you explain this person? Actual score went up 17 points from form 1. Forms 2 & 3 were also higher than 1.

mrkr scored 7 points higher and said "form 1 was more reflective for me"

Every single one of those people scored higher on the real thing than on form 1. In addition, I could not find one person (besides the one you mentioned) who scored lower, much less significantly lower. And I know the test hasn't changed in the last 2 years.

So where is this "LOT" of people you are talking about?

Maybe the person was trying to 'memorize' correct answers sort of...by using question banks, etc. So when they got to the test, they ended up doing rather poorly b/c they didn't understand concepts

Dude no disrespect but this people are in the 230+ group, by logic they will have a great score or a higher score than the NBME 1.
Where are the people that score in the 400's? o yea they dont post or just lye

Really? And you know ALL of these people personally? You either a) are lying, or b) need to get smarter friends.

My opinion is the same you score in the low 400's on the NBME 1 and you are at risk of failing the test.

You score more than 230 and you will pass with good grades.

my 2 cents

By what logic? Form 1 only underestimates if you score low? I have never heard that argument before.
400 should be right on the pass/fail line. 420 is flirting with disaster.

I just snap and went overthe board here.

To much stress going on for me, my test is in 3 weeks, I have to work more hours 😡, and I just +pissed+ . wrong place wrong time😕🙁

So I hope you guys accept my apologies.

No problem. I've done it more times than I'd like to admit. I was just trying to reduce the stress for the students who scored well on form 1. They don't need to be flipping out thinking a 510 on form 1 is no good.
Good luck on your test!

I've never posted here before, but this drives me crazy. I passed the first time. I know a lot of people would not be happy with my score, but it is just fine for me. I was 370 (184) on form 2 and then 400(192) on form 1. I got a 193 on the real thing. Reading things like "A LOT of people blah blah fail with this practice score blah blah" made me upset before I took the test. It's stupid. There is no magic formula. Form 1 was predictive for me but it may not be for you. Take the practice tests, do your best, and don't listen to people who tell you about "all the people" that "they heard" who failed with this or that practice score. The people who say that are small people who seem to enjoy tearing others down. I have related my actual experience not what I "heard" or what "everyone knows." Try to talk to actual students at your school or elsewhere who have taken the test and can give you solid advice. Sometimes it seems as if only people in the 250s post on here and they would die with my score. They would probably give you different advice than I am because they desperately want to match into the best residency at the best academic institution. They don't know what it's like to be nervous about passing. I do and I hope this helps.

I agree with bluesky. nobody could predict what questions you will get on the actual test. anything could be on it, and no one test is predicative to what you will experience on the actual test. But from what I heard, the NBME exams are predicative of your actual score will be

Hey man what form did you end up taking this time around? Because now you have me worried, i'm taking Form 1 on wednesday. You know my original score man, if I do worse its over for.
But from where you were on the first exam you can improve in the next 5 weeks w/o a problem.
