I'm curious, did anyone take multiple NBMEs before taking the test and the score they got was much lower than the NBME predicted? I always hear people saying it's a good predictor, I just wanna see if that holds true or is it the people who get the good scores that match the NBME who say this.

:luck:

There's 40 page threads where people post all their NBME/UWSA scores and their real scores. Why not just look at that thread?

I did. I follow that and the Step 1 experience thread like I was part of a cult that stalks all the people who are taking their Step 1 and reading the experiences they have. There I only really see posts from people who say it was a good predictor. I am looking for those people who didn't do like their NBME predicted just to get an idea if that happens often or not.

I'm confused then.. If you go on there you can see people with 255's on the practice tests who scored 245s, and people with 220s that scored 230's. Obviously there is a spread between people and their scores, with some people falling lower than had been previously predicted.

I don't think you will find people with 250's on NBME 7 and a 215 on the real thing, if that's what you're looking for. What you may find is a 238 from a 250 though.

Yeah that's the thing I was wondering about. If there are people who were getting 240s on the practice and got 200-210 on the real thing...or worse...FAILED IT! I'm just a bit on the edge about this thing like everyone else. Everyone keeps talking about how it's harder after May 17th so I'm trying to see if the NBMEs are still valid at being good predictors. Thanks for the info though.
