I played golf today...and I played really well. Did god bless me? How come he didn't bless my golf buddies? Have they turned away from God but I didn't?

This is all becoming very clear to me now..

How do you know God does not bless your buddies? The fact that you and your buddies are still breathing is already a blessing from God.

You could be very convincing if you can calculate the amount of blessing a human receive every day, using triple integral in three dimensional space or polar coordination system.

No calculation, no discussion.

For you, I only need to ask a question. Do you believe in God?

ummmm are earthquakes new phenomenon? or did we always have earthquakes? do you think california and their frequent earthquakes are a sign from god? or do you think san andreas fault has something to do with it?

In fact, it is a warning from God to people. As I say, if God totally remove his hand from the world, destruction will come upon you.

so.....why does god use destruction to show warnings? why not just come out and say..."hello, I'm god... y'all be good or else?" Wouldn't that be more effective and less painful?

No, earthquake is not new, but the frequency has gone up significantly.

http://www.thehorizonproject.com/earthquakes.cfm

We use statistics to conclude whether an event that is happened by chance or significant. Look at the number of recent years earthquakes compared in the past, there is a significant increase in frequency as well as amplitude. We know something is going wrong.

This brings to a question: are there events caused by Nature itself or it is a sign from God? I believe the latter is true.

Oh no...not the horizon project data...

how do you explain that the history's deadliest earthquakes were in China spanning from 1550's to 1970's?

If God ever shows up to everyone, there will be no more question, no more arguments. That also mean you either go to hell because of your unbelief, or heaven because you have believed in His name. It is God's mercy that he has not done that. In fact, God has showed signs for us to see:

1) There is a recent strange mushroom cloud appeared in Moscow city:

What do you think the cloud look likes?

2) A strange spiral of light appeared in the night sky at Norway:

3) A touchdown Status of Jesus was destroyed by lighting:

Are you gonna believe what I say? But first and last I am not God, and I will not try to be God to know all things.

An old Jewish story tells of a Russian Jew who was paid a ruble a month by the community council to stand at the outskirts of town so that he could be the first person to greet the Messiah upon his arrival. When a friend said to him, "But the pay is so low," the man replied: "True, but the job is permanent."

I never understood God bless America. Why would God care about boundaries man has defined?

when you call someone innocent, do you mean that they have not done any evil thing in their lives? The bible said no one is good except God. We were born sinners, and fall short of His glory. We are evil in our heart. If I compare myself to a murder, of course I will be much innocent than him. But if I too compare myself to God and His Holy, I am nothing more than a filthy rat.
I suggest you pick up your bible. I suggest you turn to Genesis and look at the story of the creation of the universe:

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 Now the earth was unformed and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters. 3 And God said: 'Let there be light.' And there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

9 And God said: 'Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear.' And it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters called He Seas; and God saw that it was good. 11 And God said: 'Let the earth put forth grass, herb yielding seed, and fruit-tree bearing fruit after its kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth.' And it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, herb yielding seed after its kind, and tree bearing fruit, wherein is the seed thereof, after its kind; and God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.

14
And God said: 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth.' And it was so. 16 And God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night; and the stars. 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

20 And God said: 'Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let fowl fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.' 21 And God created the great sea-monsters, and every living creature that creepeth, wherewith the waters swarmed, after its kind, and every winged fowl after its kind; and God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying: 'Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.' 23 And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.

24 And God said: 'Let the earth bring forth the living creature after its kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after its kind.' And it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth after its kind, and the cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good. 26 And God said: 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.' 27 And God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. 28 And God blessed them; and God said unto them: 'Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that creepeth upon the earth.' 29 And God said: 'Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed--to you it shall be for food; 30 and to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is a living soul, [I have given] every green herb for food.' And it was so. 31 And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

So God creates the universe and each day notes that it is good. But after he creates man it is very good. Kind of blows your theory out of the water.

I often wonder myself why God allowed evil things happened to people. But I know He has his purpose for letting things happen to us. One of which I know is teach us a lesson that we are totally dependent on God. From the foods that we eat, water that we drink, to the oxygen that we breathe. We can't live even one second without God's support.
If that was the case, there would be no point in living. It is also silly to claim a child is evil in his heart and deserves to be hit by a truck. Your pediatric view of God makes a mockery of those who believe in a God who according to Jeremiah is the "source of mercy, justice, and righteousness, in the earth; for in these things I delight"

I often find myself turn away from God when I am happy. When I am happy, God is not in my mind. I forgot that everyday my life depends on His support. But when sorrow in my life I find it easier to ask for God's help.

I have to include a quote from the bible to answer your question: " All things work together for good for those who love God". Bad things that happen to me that I often call "evil" are merely temporary. God will work those things out for my ultimate good. It takes Faith to believe.

I never understood God bless America. Why would God care about boundaries man has defined?

While the founders had a variety of beliefs from atheism (Payne) to deism (Jefferson) to theism (John Adams) it is pretty clear that the USA was founded by Europeans who were predominately Christian. That's why the Declaration of Independence wrote that we received our rights from God. The founders ideal was a religious society but a secular government.

I bet you have a case of OCD. Have you not learned that no matter how logical and indepth your argument is, you can rarely ever convince others when dealing with dogmatic people in topics such as religion and politics?

what is the chance to get hit by thunder? 1 to 280,000
http://knol.google.com/k/anonymous/lottery/3lwnamp7b80be/3#
Calculating the odds of being killed or severely wounded by lightning. 950 (200 deaths + 750 sever injuries) divided by 310,139,948 equals 0.000003 which means a 3 in a million chance.

http://www.lightningsafety.com/nlsi_info/fast-facts-about-lightning.pdf
+ Your risk of being killed by lightning is 1:28,500 per exposed individual. (NPH Newsletter,
January 1992)

+ It's wrong to say lightning never strikes twice. It hits the Empire State Building, on average,
21-25 times per year. A U.S. Park Service Ranger, Ray Sullivan, was struck by lightning seven
different times between 1942 and 1976. Yes, he survived them all. (We don't know if his hair was
curly.)

How do you get hit by thunder?

If you hear thunder, then you've been hit.

So, I would say chance of getting hit by thunder is 100% if you're in a thunderstorm.

Now, getting hit by a lightning is another story.

Lightening McQueen's infamous quote..

Well, you know, because Thunder always comes after... Lightning!

What exactly is my theory again? And why God created good things have to do with God's judgment on sinners?

— Abraham Joshua Heschel

1) What exactly is my theory again? And why does God create good things have to do with God's judgment on sinners?

2) You bring up a good point that God is mercy, justice, and righteousness. But let's me ask you a question? What do you do with your guilt? If you say you have no guilt, then the next questions are have you ever lied? Have you ever hurt someone by your insult? Have you ever committed adultery? If you answer "yes" to any of those questions, then you are guilty of God's law and justice. And He will punish you for GOD is HOLY, HOLY, and HOLY. He will not tolerate any sin in his law, and his perfect justice. He will not negotiate with you to stop being Holy.

A child being punished by God for his transgressions is a Justice of God. Because apparently we are all sinners who have broken the laws. But because God is Love and Mercy, He provided a way out. While you are dead in your sin, He sent Jesus Christ down to earth to live a perfect life, and died on the cross for your sins. If you believe in Jesus, then you will be saved.

3) "The worship of reason is arrogance and betrays a lack of intelligence. The rejection of reason is cowardice and betrays a lack of faith."
All I can say is Rejection of Jesus Christ is rejecting of God's love and mercy because you will, by your self, bare his Judgment in the Last days. All of what you called "reasons" and "intelligent" are vanished, and worthless in that day, but "Faith" will save many.

From all this we may learn that there are two races of men in this world, but only these two—the “race” of the decent man and the “race” of the indecent man. Both are found everywhere; they penetrate into all groups of society. No group consists entirely of decent or indecent people. In this sense, no group is of “pure race”

I want the person who predicted the economy would tank and that pharmacy jobs would collapse to come front & center. Since nobody predicted this you can bet your ass nobody knows what's gonna happen 5 years from now......

"Pharmacy will be saturated by the time you graduate"

-A quote from my uncle back in 2006-07 when I was applying for pharmacy school.

My response was "you're crazy".

I guess he knew something. Or maybe it was just a lucky guess.

I am not an economist, but I will say there are still lots of jobs up here in igloo country. You just have to be willing to relocate, sometimes to (very) small towns. My idea of hell on earth is living in a big city, driving an hour each way to work, so I dig small towns. And it's 81 degrees right now, so the igloo thing isn't year-round.

It's much harder to debate Shaq & Wilt then it is to prove this guy is an idiot. I had to do a lot of research on the Shaq Wilt thing. The bible stuff is as second nature to me as pharmacy....

You tube Wilt and watch some footage. But this little video will explain what kind of athlete he was. This is what Wilt could do at 50 years old.

Yeah, he was also assassinated and India today is still a third world country with Hindi caste-based honor killings.

Maybe a little worrying and thought for posterity is a good thing, like our founding fathers.

Medical School is overrated 👎

At least a physician can always hang a shingle and make money seeing patients. House calls if necessary. They may not make as much as the good old days, but their livelihood is fairly guaranteed. They're like electricians and plumbers.

Unemployed retail pharmacists are rather screwed. Few would have the capital to start an independent pharmacy business.

I think you friggin cry-babies should quit school and run home to mama. Who in God's name knows what the labor market will be when you graduate? Go to school, learn the material and become a good pharmacist. Do a residency if you want to. But jeepers creepers, quit the pissin n moanin. Is this a pharmacy board or a death watch? I want the person who predicted the economy would tank and that pharmacy jobs would collapse to come front & center. Since nobody predicted this you can bet your ass nobody knows what's gonna happen 5 years from now.....

Either that or score some Xanax and chill out....

It's almost like there are a bunch of people on these forums that got into pharmacy for the money, not the profession. But that would never happen, would it?

Plenty of people graduate with a humanities degree and 200k in debt, and they still figure something out. What, now you won't get a sign-on bonus, and you won't be able to pick and choose your job from five competitive offers? Waah.

That's the exact reason I got into pharmacy. The money. 6 years, 6 figure salary? Why not? Sounded like a good investment to me. I personally couldn't give a s*it about my patients; I get paid and that's the only thing about the profession of pharmacy that I ever cared about.
