Hi Guys-

My cousin will be doing an NIH summer internship. He's a freshman undergrad. He'll be working at the NCI campus in Rockville, MD. He's kinda stumped about how to find housing there. The website is very unhelpful. And the NCI pretty much said he's on his own with that stuff. Living in DC seems like it would be too far.

We're far away from DC and don't know the area. Is Rockville really close to DC? He doesn't have a car so he'll need to be near public transportation. Is the NCI campus in Rockville near public transportation? Did any of you do this? If so, how did you go about finding housing.

We're kind of in a bind. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Im working in the NIH right now and I actually will be moving out of my apt in rockville. Its a bus ride away from the Rockville Metro station and the bus picks up right across the street. Email me if you wanna know more

The website below has information on housing. Its a website for Postbacc students but if you sent an email to ClubPCR, they will post your email on our listserv. Include all your information and ask for advice in the email. Once your email is posted on our listserv you'll get lots of responses or suggestions.

I worked at the NIH for two summers. I know that some of the students in my program got housed at GW I wanna say. If you need more info I still have the information NIAMS sent me about housing 3 years ago. Just PM me.

The metro is great in DC and there is a stop called medical center that stops at the NIH. The NIH will pay for the metro because they can't give you parking on campus. You do have to go to building 31 to get the pass.

Good morning,
I am Sara Fernández from Reus (SPAIN). This summer I am going to work in NHI for 3 months and my husband is may coming only one month to work as a newspaper photographer. We are non-smokers, and 32 and 39 y.o. We may be there by beginning July.
We are looking for an apartment/house to share and we would prefer one near metro station or neear NIH.
Thank you very much in advance for your response.
Best regards,
Sara & Xavi
