Has anyone heard anything from NCSU CVM? Any new e-mails?
I haven't seen a thread on any updates for this school- any news would be great!
p.s. Hang in there everyone!!!😕
It looks like last year the OOSers got an acceptance call on 1/13. That's TODAY! ahhhhh
Thanks OliveOyl - that's very helpful...it will bring my stress level down a bit 😉
and to the OOS applicants...have you seen the stats for this year? 523 applicants - that's almost double previous years! luckily us IS is about the same as before...but good luck OOS guys!!
My guess is that it's because they removed the business requirement starting this year.
I received my rejection (IS) last year after the admissions letters were sent out. I received it via in mid- to late- March. The folks that were offered positions heard about a week before I did.
Get ready for a long few months if you're in state!
Do you remember what business course requirements they required in the past? That is interesting.
I was thinking about trying to get into contact with them, but I guess perhaps I will just wait a few more days...
Did anyone ever call them to see when OOS decisions will be available, or are we just sticking with the 31st on the website? I am hoping they;ll be finished early!!!
heard rumor that things are later than last year due to the volume of OOS applicants.

I emailed them on a separate issue and received a reply this morning. This was included:
Non resident applications have already been to committee and decisions have been made. Letters to selected applicants will go out this week; followed by those on the waitlist and then those not selected. You should know your status soon.
Here's to stalking the mailbox!!
Eeep! I keep promising myself not to get "sold" on a school so that rejection won't feel so bad...but there's so much about NC State that I love. Whenever I start thinking about the school, I try to convince myself that there's no way I was accepted. If I go in with a realistic/pragmatic/pessimistic view, I can only go up from there if I get a (highly unlikely) acceptance!
NittanyKitty...you would go to NCSU over Penn?
I thought NCSU no longer allows students to change resident status...am I confusing it with another school?

One of the benefits of attending NCSU is free legal cousel, including counsel to become a legal resident, enabling a studen to obtain IS funding after the first year. At least, that is what has happened in the past and for the class of 2013
Do you think that most of your classmates who wanted and worked for IS status were able to get it, sumstorm? Any real problems or headaches that you've heard of?
Greetings!
You have applied to the CVM at NC State for the upcoming school year. I am the Scholarship and Financial Aid contact for current and future students in the College of Veterinary Medicine. I'd like to give you some advance information regarding scholarships and financial aid at NCSU and the CVM.
Please read this important information if you have applied for 2010-2011 and you are interested in ANY Financial Aid or Scholarships for the upcoming school year.
You must complete the FAFSA to be eligible for ANY financial aid or scholarship. The priority deadline to file is March 1, 2010 and is coming fast. Students who complete the FAFSA by March 1 will have priority for NC State grants (if offered admission). One major difference between completing the FAFSA as an undergraduate and a graduate/professional student is that you no longer need to include parental income on the FAFSA as you are now all considered "independent." So, go to the FAFSA website and update and/or complete the electronic form and submit it no later than March 1, 2010. The website is: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ Our FAFSA Institutional Code is 002972. You should complete the FAFSA to be eligible for any financial aid at any institution so complete this and submit it even if you aren't sure that NC State CVM is where you will be attending! Be sure to complete your social security number as this is how NC State will match you to your FAFSA information.
Should you receive an offer of admission, I will contact you with information regarding additional financial aid and scholarship paperwork that you will need to complete to be eligible for financial aid at NC State and scholarships at the CVM.
Information regarding private scholarships for those admitted students will have a separate application and I will send those out to you via email as they become available. Please pay close attention to the individual deadlines for these private scholarships.
Please email me with questions regarding Scholarships and Financial Aid.
