What is the purpose of a keyed cast?
The root of which perm. tooth has the smallest surface area?

You guys know these?

Dunno about the first one, but I'd expect the second is mandibular lateral incisors.

Keyed cast: to allow one to remount a cast on the articulator. Usually after processing an RPD or CD.

Hey guys,

I'm a bit confused about an answer which the ADA has given to the released question below.

Bupivacaine (Marcaine) has all of the following properties relative to lidocaine (Xylocaine) EXCEPT bupivacaine:

1. is more toxic
2. is an ester-type LA
3. has a slower onset of action
4. has a longer duration of action

ASDA's answer is 2. I thought it should be 4, no? Bupivacaine is an amide type of LA and so is lidocaine. So why is the answer 2????? 😕 I don't know, I just find this question to be very weird, especially the way it's worded.

I'm sure of my answer. Bupivacaine is definetly an amide and it's mode of action doesn't differ a lot from lidocaine. ANd it's known for it's toxicity (contra-indicated in children)

For root planning, you use gracey curette from #1-2 till #13-14 (each of them has it's indication)...Consult dental decks
