What is a neat sample? I'm doing the EK1001 O chem book and it keeps asking me, "if I have a neat sample of this..."

Is a neat sample just a pure sample? And if so, when why would they also have questions that say "I have a pure, neat sample..."

help!

I think it means "undiluted" (1).

I thought a neat sample was a special type of preparation of sample for IR.

Neat sample: A drop of sample is pressed between two halide salt crystals. A clean crystal window
can be used as reference background.
