Here's the deal. I'm a freshman at a small private school that is considering transferring my junior year. I have a decent amount of reasons with lack of opportunities and cost being two main motivating factors. The thing is I have already made a lot of progress at my current school: have close to 6-7 teachers already for what seems to becoming a strong committee letter, have established myself in many clubs, and have a 4.0 currently.
While I'm looking at IVYs, I am considering UNC, WF, and Vandy as potential schools for me to transfer to. I've already looked up financial aid and all of these schools would save me close to $30,000 over the two years. Also, most of my credit will transfer.
Here are my questions that I need advice for:
1) Just to make sure, I can get over half of my committee letter from writers at another institution, correct? How does this look?
2) If I'm trying to keep my GPA >3.8, how would UNC, WF, and Vandy affect that? (You don't have to tell me about study habits, I obviously work hard. However, just wondering about grade inflation/ deflation)
3) For people that have transferred: How did you handle adjusting to the new school in regards to your involvement in the community/ on campus?
