Hey all,

Took the Sept. 10 MCAT, got my score back last week. 28Q - BS: 10, VR: 10, PS: 8

Not fantastic. I was working full time, and I didn't get to prepare as much as I wanted before hand. Also only put ~ 6 weeks into studying before the exam date, so that was clearly inadequate. So I'm taking it again in the new year to hopefully hit above 30.

I was using EK materials for everything, and while I liked the EK Bio and EK Orgo, I wasn't super impressed with the physics and chem presentation, and felt some of the chapters were just confusing (Chem. Thermodynamics chapter was just "what?"). And clearly I need more work in that area.

What guides would you guys suggest as supplemental/replacement material to the EK physical sciences books? TBR, PR, Kaplan?

Well the TBR physics and general chem books are considered to be "pure gold" around here. A lot of people are happy with them which is why I ordered the whole set myself.

Thats one of the ones I was looking into based on the huge SN2ed MCAT schedule. Have you got to take a look at them yet?

nope, not yet. it'll be another ~2 weeks before I get my hands on them as I ordered them from Canada..

I just got my set recently and I ordered from Canada as well 🙂 But I ordered from SDN: For Sale section. Still newest editions, so all good.

And yep, they're as good as people say they are. ****load cheaper than any of the other courses too. I've also got all the books for the SN2ed schedule. Doesn't really matter too much on books and ****, it's just about actually studying effectively and putting your nose to the grindstone for a few months.
